Suunto Watches / Compasses

Read some reviews on these guys before you buy...

They are great looking watches but even some of the reviews on the Suunto site are not that great - battery life, accuracy, reliability all have some issues.

At one time OSTS had the Luminox watches but I don't see these on the site now. Any chance these will be back?

The Core All Black is a sick watch! I've had mine for just under a year, and got it for just under $300 at a ridiculous sale! I had the cash in my pocket, and only bought it because the price was great. Anyway, it's a great watch that can take a beating.

I've got a core that is by far the toughest watch I've ever owned. It was the orange banded one and after I wrecked that band I put on a much nicer black replacement. Yes, it kills a battery a year but it warns you for a week that its time to change it and it takes less then a minute to do it and the battery is less then 3 bucks. All my features work well and I will buy another if I ever totally kill this one.

That isn't to bad of battery life, all things considered.

This would be the most I ever spent on a watch. But not the most I've spent on gadgets
They look durable, and they come in handy if you hike, camp... I personally like the all black look

I have looked for a decent compass... But I'm not sure which one to get, or what other features I need.

Looks good wait for pricing and I need a new watch, CBC radio just had a show
on two weeks ago and said they are in fashion once again...

The main issue with these new suunto watches is that they are not made like they use to. I have had suunto's for the past 7+ years and until I got my Core black I never had an issue. I have returned my Core 3x for repair. On the positive side they have an excellent repair program 4-7 days and you have a new one or repaired one back. Most of the time they just give you a new one.

Thanks T

Can I ask what your issues have been?

My compass is off about 30deg and I've been scared to wear it shooting as a couple of my buddies have had the barometer poop out from the shock.

I'm really impressed with One Shot's product range, I'm hoping you guys will be carrying some other watch brands; MTM, G-Shock's and Oakley's Mil line.

My first one had a bad seal and the first time I went swimming it died. Second one about 3 weeks after getting the replacement had the left top button stop working. Third one got water in it somehow while swimming again. 4th has been good so far.

Thanks T

My Suunto core had to be replaced after 1 year. The menu button stopped responding. Baromerter is quite accurate, altimiter not so much and the compass is useable in a pinch. If I had to do it again I'd probably go with something else.
