I say don't as well. Just my opinion, but if you can look at a historic, already badass looking SVT 40 and think to yourself "man, some black Tremclad or something would really pimp that", you might have the wrong hobby.
I love the guys who say "aw, there's millions of them, do what you want, who cares". A few years ago, those same people (or maybe their dads) were probably saying the same thing about Enfields and German K98s. At least my guns will be worth more in a few years as a result.
i excepted like 2 replies lol but okay. well it will get painted. a value of a svt40 or sks is garbage lol its a 200-300$ gun that was made in the millions. why do you think its so cheap? if this was a rare gun im sure it wouldnt be called a cheap shooter. they were nice enough to even give us some corrosive cheap ammo
THANK YOU.
ps. tapco stocks look like garbage IMO. Ill post pictures once its all done up!

What are you painting Svt40 or SKS? I dont understand which?
Im keeping the wood, but all the metal need to be touched up. Since the gun is so old the metal and its paint is very old and scratched up. Im going to paint the metal on the gun a nice flat black and add a russian red dot to it with a side mount.
... Dont listen to that mall ninja nunfancy he would duracoat his own mother...

Cold bluing sucks. In fact, bluing in general sucks, no matter how good it looks. What a bunch of fudds...and yes, you are fudds, and I do know the definition of such. A fudd is a firearms snob, you guys are fitting that description perfectly with all your bubba this and bubba that nonsense. It's just paint, and it's not supposed to be easy to get off, that's the point...although a few minutes in a sandblast cabinet will not only bring any metal to virgin fresh but it will also do it without any sort of damage to said metal. Get a grip.
