svt 40 mag

Received both my mags today. Nicely packaged and as described. Look to be much better quality than the other repro mags out there. Thanks again for bringing these in! My only gripe is the ugly rivet in the back of it. An internal round limiting would have been nice but for the price and how quickly they were brought in/shipped still a 10/10 for Corwin Arms!

Polish SVT mags? How did I not know those existed?

I don't think they do exist? I asked a few US and European collectors and none of them had ever heard of SVT-40 magazines being produced by Radom in in the post-war period.

These are new production, yeah?

Are you guys interested in SVT 40 parts, we were just offered few SVT 40 parts only rifles from Polish Military school. They are basically drill rifles. All parts are good except barrels that are welded shut, plus stocks are crap but the rest is in good condition

Definitely a market for SVT parts in Canada.

I would definitely like to know the history behind these mags. They came wrapped in some type of old-timey appearance oil paper which sort of made me question if these were new production. As stated in their ad these were 'newer' production...

In for answers and first range report!

I just got my magazine and wow! Except for 1958 date stamp and Radom factory stamp it looks like brand new production. It fits perfectly and functions exactly like the one that came with my rifle. I should have bough two lol!

Lucky me. I have one of the 3% of guns they don't work in, apparently. Snaps in tight but does not feed. Someone has gone at the tabs on the back with a file or grinder so it sits too low for the bolt to pick up the cartridge. Right side works intermittent, left side not at all.

Match it up with the one that works, may have to add in a little material or take some away, but it sounds like it will work. I had to get a magazine that wasn't matched to the rifle to work, with nothing to compare it to. THAT was an adventure. It's amazing that any of them work "out of the box" to be honest :)

Needs material added, by a welder. I've messed with the lips a bit and taken the burrs off the feed path edges so there's no returning it. Got it grabbing both sides now but just by a hair, not enough to push properly so shells jam 50/50. Only thing to fix it is to weld back all the material somebody ground off.

Just a thought, mine was not feeding AT ALL, and I fixed it by welding a strap of steel (limiter) to the bottom of the follower in the front, so that I could change the angle of the follower, if that makes sense. Some of them already have that limiter on the follower (mine had snapped off). That was the last thing I needed to fix both feeding and last round hold open problems. It just might be the same thing.
