Svt 40 or type 81 or vz58?

Just bought one from Ellwood Epps for $699. Plus if I'm not happy with the accuracy I can return it. Thanks for all the advice, I'm super excited

I would hold off on the 81 until the price comes down and they prove to have fixed major issues like..... Bent barrels and canted sights.

Just my .02

Yup... I have read here that likely most are ok, but in my opinion its likely more safe to wait until its sorted out. I don't like to play the lottery, especially seeing how expensive they are.

The T-81 pricing is not going to come down - I think this is wishful thinking from those that missed the boat on the first sailing. If I was to bet on anything, it would be the opposite and pricing will come to more closely align with the VZ-58 models; so up a few hundred more.
The only way we will see lower costs is if importation is flung open, several competing importers, and if the Chinese are sitting on stockpiles of semi-auto only guns. Not all that likely.
M-305s were $399 less than ten years ago, and now they are commanding $700-800.

I agree.....I didn't even expect TI to release a second shipment....cz858s were as low at 499.99 when they first came out now they are a minimum 1000$ well used a

I see there are a few more outside vendors getting involved in this order with TI acting as middle man - that's not conducive to prices coming down.

I think I would be interested in a shorty Chinese rifle in 7.62 or .223 like a QBZ-03 variant.....I know it would be restricted, and that goes against the intent of the Type 81 coming in as non restricted, but my Little Czech friend below is soooo much fun, and a Sino companion would be cool!

Looks very sharp
What kind of accuracy do you get with?

The Czech 7.5" 7.62 x39
It's fun on a 20 meter indoor range where you can keep them in the black ring, or about 50 meters max on a figure 11 is cool.
It's just $h!t'3 and giggles really with that very short sight plane farther away than that, although the right sling setup with an optic would be a game changer.

.... it's such a small package delivering this round that a center of mass group would have a much more significant impact that the same or tighter from a 9mm sub.
And loud...it's also a real crowd pleaser at dusk!!

Sounds like fun

Brought the rifle to the range today, was super excited. Its a dud... The mag had issues and even when I firmly held it it would still not cycle or eject properly. Thankfully their kind and will refund me. I think I will go for a vz58

Did you do a complete field strip and clean out all the cosmoline? Was the mag locked in properly, have you checked the gas system? What setting is it at currently, if it fires but fails to properly eject or load the next round you likely have to go up in gas settings till you find the setting needed for that particular ammo you are using.

If you were using the Chinese surplus that comes in the white 20 round boxes that's unsurprising. Mine hates that stuff. It cycles everything else just fine.

It was a previously used one, very clean. I used sellot Bellot ammunition. Just some bad luck I guess
