Can you explain in detail what the malfunction was, was it a mag feeding issue or was it not cycling properly? The gas system isn't like the sks, you have to adjust it depending on ammo. It can run overgassed and beat the hell out of the action or be under gassed and not reliably cycle and fail to eject or feed.

There are multiple ones, the mag is definitely at fault as well. It falls out after firing, and even when I hold it firmly it doesn't always eject or cycle in a new round. If it does eject it sometimes stove pipes.

Hey Northmen, I suggested earlier in this thread that it’s a journey to get to a good one, you will get there if you can enjoy the journey.
 
My 30 warranty is up soon, I'm already lucky that their willing to help by refunding me. I'll come accross another one someday. Its definitely a journey this hobby haha
 
The problem right now on the EE is that everyone is trying to sell an 858 they ruined with their upgrades. The ones that haven't been butchered usually have the front sight post cranked to the left or right.

I can understand replacing the beaver barf for wood, or putting the factory folder on, but the AR858's are beyond stupid.

I cannot agree more. For what to bastardize a red rifle to look American if you can buy a real AR rifle?
 
SVT40's are really long, but man they are good rifles. A bit more effort to clean, but they are surprisingly easy to handle and you don't feel the recoil as much as you'd think.

I totally agree. I love mine just as it is. I have the beaver barf stock & grip and the metal side folder. I also have the black synthetic stock and grips but I never use them, I prefer the metal and wood.
