SVT - Quality

Speaking of slings, any suggestions for the SVT-40?

It says original WW2, and the ones I bought were the correct length for the original SVT slings, however the consensus seems to be that they're most likely PPSH slings. Regardless, I have one on my SVT and it fits perfectly, and "looks" original.



Edit: They also waive the $35 international shipping fee if you only order accessories, such as slings...

Will probably see tomorrow on my Visa what they charged me.

I just ordered a mount and scope for it since I have the grooves on mine. Hopefully I can find a way to mount it without having to make a notch....

Funny that the Scope mount combo from Westrifle is cheaper on his ebay account than his online store.

I have that one on My Vz52/57 and it works good, I will try it on my SVT once it gets here and I will let you know. Mine is the older cotton version, might be longer.

Hmm, it took me a while but I seen some and actually I still own one with mint barrel, looks like it never been fired.

They are great rifles but with all surplus the condition is luck of the draw. Most surplus dealers are fair when it comes to assessing surplus so I would not hesitate to purchase one from a reputable dealer. Most SVT rifles saw combat and used corrosive ammo so the bores are all fair to good. I have never seen one with an "excellent bore". Hope that helps.
