SVT40's with FAKE Nazi Markings

GI's were even faking leather goods and such when they found Nazi and SS Stamps/Dies even before 1945, because they knew they could get more cash for it when they sold and traded the item...

As John pointed out early, these SVT-40's nazi markings are a very poor fake.

And probably the fakers realized they can't make a buck either
with a poor fake.

All they did was devalue a milsurp with those fake markings.

In this case the money to follow was a diminishing trail of small returns and a failed attempt to deceive.

I have no idea one way or another whether or not this is genuine or not, but I do remember John selling his Nazi marked M44 a while back, and the consensus was it was fake, and John did not take to kindly to that assumption, and he had his facts to back up his points as well.

While many can scream "fake" etc, and insinuate deception and malfeasance... I don't think anyone can say what the facts are behind these Mosins/SVT-40's for sure 100%...

There is much conjecture that all the stamped Mosin Captures that came in the '90s were faked too because of a 1946 dated "Nazi Capture" M44... but it could be perhaps that it was faked after the fact of seeing the other marked M44's???

I have also dealt with agentcq MANY times, and he has ALWAYS been honest, knowledgeable, forthright, and fair to work with. I can only assume that with these SVT40's, as well as the M44 from John at Marstar, that if they were faked, it was done quite some time ago in the country that they were imported to Canada from.

John also had a lithgow with similar markings that was listed for quite a sum if I remember correctly. I will refrain form commenting further untill I have seen both these units firsthand.
 
what was this thread about ? I thought a person was selling some marked firearms that were represented as being enhanced at one time and it turns into this ? wow

Umm, yeah... that link is to a Rick Astley video. I does nothing to help your arguement, and brings into question your sanity.
 
Maybe the Germans hired some numpty ruskie to do the stamping and he didn't know there was a difference in stamps and accidentally used the stock stamp on the metal.

Why would someone fake SVT 40s during the cold war (35yrs ago) with a Nazi proof? Where would they even find one over in the USSR at that time?

You should be looking for a Full Refund for your Fake SVT-40's after reading this and post #7 from Vic:

The marking is not original and is indeed a added feature that is not proper Im afraid. Real German capture proofs are in the SVT section located at mn.net- showing the proper eagels.
