SW 629 stuck in DA

Thanks for the assistance, see pics above of what I have going on. Where the flat head screwdriver is pointing in the first pic is where it is jamming when trying to #### the hammer into SA.

Cheers.

In Post #19 the Sear appears to out of position. The top needs to be farther to the rear and the bottom farther to the front.

The SA portion of the hammer may be shortened, possibly for DA only?

What happens if you manually move the rebound slide slightly rearward? Does the gap (which shouldn't exist) disappear and allow for proper engagement? Can you thoroughly clean the area around the rebound slide stud?

Look at the following areas and compare them to the "lucky gunner" picture.

Watch this closely to understand how that engagement is supposed to work...

Start at the 59 second mark...

Awesome thank you I owe you a beer next time you’re in the Hammer! I’ll work on this and report back. Cheers

No worries.

Post like these are great because everyone (including myself) learns a little something. We're not out of the woods yet but we'll get there.

So ive taken it apart completely now and have a few concerns.

1. I did not find a spring when I removed the bolt, I was told there should be one there? The pin is springy but there was no actual spring there when I removed it. What you see in the picture is all that was there.
2. The trigger assembly is quite sloppy! I that normal. I showed a couple pictures of it where I tried to show its side to side movement. Is that normal?

Thanks.

Nice work SteelCityBuyer...

The hand definitely has play but I'm not sure how much is too much, maybe someone more knowledgeable than myself will chime in shortly.

I say tidy it all up, slap it together and see what if any improvement was gained.

Does the strain screw look cut/worn down?

That amount of movement is normal on that style of Hand. The Bolt Plunger Assembly appears normal also. The Sear is not where is should be.
