Swapping out a Ruger Hawkeye extractor for a Model 70 one.

Charles, instead of all of this effort to turn the Rugger into a Model 70, why not just run the 375 Rugger in a Model 70 in the first place? It's been done plenty of times. Model 70's also come standard with the vaunted red maxipad and "quality" extractor...

Good thing you always carry a spare.
You have plenty of lefty's, no?
And as such, they really can't be that hard to find?

And I thought his backpack was for hauling game. Not spare parts. On second glance it is pretty spotless. ;)

ah ah close to be as bad as 300 win mag into 375 ruger. love that forum.

I’m trying to figure out why this is even remotely controversial? Aside from the fact that Buckmastr, Hoytcannon (pretend ignore) and Rman get the shakes and crossed eyes when I post, I cannot figure it out.

just a joke. i found interesting that you saved your 375 ruger with a winchester model 70 extractor while Douglas at the saved the 375 ruger with 300 win mag ammo that was only that ...

A bunch of new Rugers have red pads. I asked Snapshot about buying a red Ruger pad when I was originally replacing the pad on this rifle. They also gave me a song and dance about them not being offered since the tang safety models. But then again, I also ordered new guard screws for this rifle from them. They wouldn’t do it without a serial number. All three stainless hex head screws wasn’t sufficient. So I sent them the number and a photo of the rifle. Paid them my money and got three blued screws in the mail for my trouble.
