What kind of market is there for a M4 stock adapter for these things? I would be willing to estimate that the retail cost with something like a Magpul CTR would be around $300.

They have them on the US version, the SG 556 has to go through all the "us made parts" trauma. As such there's a adapter out there.

CenturionX, I had a fellow CGNer on here named "murdoc" do the paintwork. He bead blasts the entire rifle, parks it, paints it ... cooks it ... very very durable and tough and looks great. I LOVE MY SIG ARMS rifle ...

It took me a day of staring at this picture trying to figure out why it's 15% more awesome.. it's a different lower and mags on the US 556.. bastards..

Anyone know if the 556 lower will fit on a 550/PE90??? Be nice to be able to use 10rnd LAR mags instead of $90/5rnders.

yes, the 556 lower fits the swissarms.

But you need to modify the trunion to ensure proper function with the 556 lower.

Please explain. I was led to believe that the Classic Green upper would drop onto the 556 lower. I think this modification coment was made in the past and quickly quashed by someone who actually had a 556 lower and was using it up here in Canada, who said that no modification was needed.

Any pics to prove or disprove this claim?

The SAN trunnion needs to be relieved to use all M16 type magazines. Some M16 type magazines can be used without mods. The lower will fit without mods.

...and do we know which mags will work without modding the trunnion or is it a hit/miss sorta thing?

Pmags and Colt mags work with no mods all other mags need either the trunion relief cut or mod the mags with a little grind and then it works perfect.
