Good to see you back Blaxsun...

The RCMP paid out compensation to the BD38 owners quickly and without any court action. There will be no compensation unless ordered by the courts , It will be a loss that will be absorbed by the owner if all else fails .I am sure there could be a lot of legal fall out on this matter and not directed at the RCMP over the handling of this matter . It is really a train wreck that not only affects the SAN rifles but every rifle since the SAN were given an FRT I see a big problem on the horizon for everyone .

Is it nearly $3mill for the swiss arms?
Is it nearly $3mill for the swiss arms?
At least. the estimate is at over 1k, so best hope is 3 mil. Couple it with any percentage of resistance if it goes prohib, this could easily go into 10s of millions, maybe more
Lovely, it doesnt change the answer that if this debacle blows up, it could easily cost over 3 mill. And now we get the kriss vector involved, add even more money to that.

So worst case scenario and owners get screwed, I mean compensated. Does that include mags, which are proprietary? Or let's say you had your SAN rebarreled with a thousand dollar barrel?
I've sent letters to all my MPs, renewed/extended my CSSA/NFA memberships. What else.
You strip the receiver bare, and give them nothing more.
would make a great class action suit for a lawyer to take on given the number of rifles in country making it cheaper for SAN owners to try and get their hard earned money back.Whoever imported and sold them, I would imagine (if there's no compensation).

Just out of curiosity, what difference is that going to make if SAN and JR can't pull rabbits out of their hats and the RCMP simply applies written law at their discretion as they've indicated in their correspondence?
That's because Vic Toews made them. The memo the RCMP send to Vic Toews office is that they were revoking the certs. and confiscating the guns without compensation. The RCMP suggested to Vic's office it would be too costly to compensate anyone...
As an alternative too revocation and to avoid future financial compensation liabilities consideration could be given to legislative changes to the firearms act to allow owners to be grandfathered, thus permitting owners to retain possession if their firearms, should certain conditions be meet.
