Here's my Classic Green after my "Sniper" conversion:

It's now a tad heavy for lugging around, so it's a dedicated bench-hog.
 
Extractor removal

I was cleaning my Swiss Arms today. To do a complete job I tried to remove the extractor but failed. The few manuals I found stop at the firing pin removal.

I assume the extractor is not supposed to be removed at operator level. Anyone have an easy way to remove it?
 
I am looking to buy a classic green rifle. But before I do so, I want to make sure there are good options for a quad rail upgrade, and a top rail upgrade.

If anyone has places to look for them or good products they know of, please leave a post or drop me a message.

Top rail: you may find a flat-top model (integral rail) if you don't need/like the popular drum sight. This might be hard if you're looking for a used rifle.

For the rifles with drum sight, you can add a top rail for around 200$. Popular brands:
B&T available from Wolverine supplies
Kyle precision
NEA (canadian manufacturer) is releasing one actually

Quad rail: the popular and good quality product is B&T. I'm not sure if it's a good option: it's heavy, not free-floating. I don't know if it's stable enough for an aiming device.
The XCR and AR are better rifles for a quad-rail in my opinion.
 
thanks for the info. I just spent the last 10 hours avoiding sleep and researching thos products before i saw your message.

I would like a rifle with a quad rail because shooting on the move is much easier when i have a vertical grip. I dont mind a heavier rifle with in reason.

I have never held the sig 550 classic green before. I have however held and shot the xcr. Has anyone fired the classic green with a quad rail and the xcr. How do they compair.

I agree with WildPhil. No point in adding the quad rail to the Classis Green. This is not a floating barrel design, and you will notice significant POI shift when firing from various holds along the heavy quad rail. If this is important to you, go with the XCR. Quality of the SA rifles is incredible. Everytime I disassembly the firearm I'm amazed how well it is built.
 
I am a lefty and I have a Swiss Arm CQB. I would like to know how can I set up a single point sling given there is no sling mount on the right side of the rifle. Is there any after market product I can buy? I know I can buy the quad rail and add a mount in this way but I can only do it as 2 point sling. And I want single point. Any advise?

I have a CQB flat top model. It has sling points on both sides. I'm a lefty too.
 
No need to cut!

Searching deep on Wolverine website I found an 18.6" factory barrel with gas block at 500$. This may be cheaper than the custom conversion AngryEyeBrows did.

Its stated Green or Black Specials but I hear ya, it's almost called false advertising when they put the 18.5'' in there, the barrel is closer to 19''+ without the flash hider.
 
I just had another great epiphany with my swiss arms... I recently just traded my black plastics for green and so i was just fondling it while watching band of brothers (it was a coincidence I SWEAR) anyways, while i was checking out the folding trigger-guard I realized that the spring detent that holds it (the trigger guard) in it three different positions is actually the end of the magazine catch spring and not an additional part!. I know! not that amazing but too me it is quite ingenius and is just one more thing that puts this gun ahead of the rest!
 
Swiss Arms PE-90 Black Target special.

Flat top with flip up back up site. There are a number of these out there. Great for a varmint rig.

does anyone know where they sell the universal scope mounts for the black special target/pe90? i have only come across them at al simmons gun shop and it cost almost $400. the rifle i have came with the diopitor sites.

The best option if you have an iron sight model is to buy a removable picatinny rail to mount your optics to. They go for $100-$200 dollars, depending on the manufacture.
