SX3 vs. VersaMax

i recently had a maxus and a versamax....both extremely reliable and never had one glitch with either one....but if i had to choose between the 2...i would go maxus(sx3) for the lighter weight and a very nice duratouch coating

Maybe you should handle these guns before talking because you obviously cant tell a difference between inertia and gas driven LOL

The Versa Max gas system is the same as Benelli M4.

Got my SBE's and my M4's mixed up. Slip of the tongue(finger).

The Versa Max apparently will interchange some parts with the Benelli's as well.

Everyone makes mistakes Fellows.

as i havent shot an m2....i would say overall it will be nicer...i got rid of my versamax for that reason alone...it shot flawlessly but i wanted the total package..so now i have 2 Beretta A400`s (xplor and xtreme) and a benelli vinci

I had a versamax that felt really nice in my hands and really tamed recoil. Unfortunately I wasn't hitting anything so I patterned it and it was shooting about 6" low at 20 yards. Yikes. Also, the thing basically started to fall apart. The forearm was always loose, the trigger was sloppy, the mid bead fell off, and there was some side play in the hammer. Basically I took the thing back to wholesale and they took it back to questions asked (apparently they've had a lot of them coming back). A few days later I bought a Benelli M2. They are two different machines (obviously). The Benelli is light, quick, and feels incredibly sturdy in my hands. It's actually so light and so snappy on the draw I was concerned I had accidentally picked up the 20 gauge for a couple seconds! Since it is so light I was concerned about the recoil but the stock really tames it thankfully. In the end I know guys who have had a flawless Versamax fire thousands of different rounds with 0 problems. I however got a "lemon" and will not be looking back. If you do decide to buy a Versamax assemble it in the store. Take it apart, make sure nothing is loose or wobbly. That's really all you can do!

Good luck and hopefully what happened to me doesn't happen to you!

Vesramax is nice...but sx3 is better :)

Does it hurt when a hot shell lands in your sandals? LOL

I have an SX3, and I love it. It has flawlessly handled hundreds of the lightest trap loads and the heavy 3" goose loads. It is incredibly light which I enjoy, less fatigue after 20 minutes of continuous shooting on opening morning of duck :) The light weight does make the gun kick a bit more, but when you're hunting you don't feel it until noon. The trigger is nice and overall it handles and swings nicely. I will note that I religiously clean my gun after almost every outing, not because I think it will jam if I don't, but because I think it's responsible to do so.
