T2 Garand - Part 1

Peter was a good man. He left to work for CBSA as an officer. I hear from him from time to time. When he was there, it trusted him to hand pick for me as a friend.

Frank was also really good, but he left Marstar a few months ago under less than ideal circumstances. Too bad. Other than John, those were the only two Marstar guy I had personal relationships with.

Say hi to Peter for me next time you hear from him, he always did his best to make things right.
John always seems to target your posts here too which I find comical...you word everything so carefully and clearly yet he still thinks you are digging at him and go off lol.

As a side note, so far in this thread we have a milsurp dealer, a gunsmith, guys that built dozens of M1's, and an engineer all posting pretty solid observations that should really be taken seriously.
Send them back, not safe to shoot, not what you ordered...

Something I wonder about with respect to the welding....
After the lug surfaces were built up, exactly how were the surfaces ground back? Was a precision fixture used to insure the angles, etc. were correct? Some sort of precision jig would have been absolutely necessary.
In the photos posted in this thread, the various bolts do not look identical.
Hate to think that this was hand work.
Hauck gives his qualifications a master gunmaker and stocker. The German apprentice system is a rigorous one.
Looks like most of his work is on "wild west guns".
If he is the one who installed the barrels, and reworked the bolts, I think that he should have stayed with cowboy guns, and stayed away from M-1s.

You have no idea of what you speak, please check your facts John

Ok, i am going to go on a tangent here. Did we not have a similar issue of misrepresentation with 7.62 x 39 ammo many years back? Denial that it was corrosive and then modification of the original advertisement to cover up this misrepresentation, etc etc?

If I am wrong i will delete this post immediately.

Would you be kind enough to substantiate your statement....
John

Hi John,
while you are here, could you please shed some light on this Garand dilemma, and make the necessary and long awaited clarifications.
That would be grand.

John:

Fact: Peter now works for CBSA.
Fact: Frank no longer works at Marstar, unless something has changed in the last 4 weeks.

Not trying to start a pissing match, only noting that two marstar employees I had a good rapport with are no longer in your employ.

Wait WTF?! ^ John is completely ignoring the facts of this thread and nit picking people's side comments! You have lost a customer for life!

Yeah, my money will go anywhere but Marstar. In the past I ignored his little tangents and personal b@tch session, however this is uncalled for. I don't care how much money his company brings into CGN, I think it's about time the ban button falls on him, his logo is removed, and his name is in pink. This should be proof he doesn't care at all about the safety and we'll being of Canadian gun shooters and collectors but is interested only in the almighty dollar.

I cannot believe the news media has not got a hold of this yet. Or the BBB. If johnone is just going to let this ride and keep on selling he needs a larger slap than just a ban. His site has him selling to leo's and military who says he isn't passing on some crap to them when he can slip it in. If he is willing to sell these t2s a dangerous product to the public. Who knows how morally corrupt he is.

John

Not a statement, just a question. It wasn't even directed specifically at you. However, you seem to be a bit sensitive to this, so......

Anyhow, dont you think you have more serious questions to answer to?

wow owner of the problem comes to see how bad things are, flames 2 people in his typical style,, ignores all else. incredible. i thought calling for his ban from here was maybe a bit stiff, and maybe he really doesnt care if someone wears a bolt in the face. im starting to think maybe he shouldnt be here, iron clad or not. these rifles are still being advertised ,incorrectly. and sold . crazy. very fraudulant

Well, it seems the time has passed for him to step up and do the right thing, answer questions, address the concerns, offer a solution etc. from an altruistic position.

Anything potentially done from now on is damage control it seems.

i know, if i advertised incorrectly and sold something like that here i know what would happen to me. he has had ample time to make things right. seems fair game to ban him and or at the very least for GN people to call him out anyways. but as he has told us allready what he sells here wont pay wages so it shouldnt really matter to him. and selling these rifles with unsafe bolts when he has to know they are unsafe ,but continueing to sell them shows he cares not for his customers. im very very disapointed in john. ive bought lots of stuff from him in the past to, without problems. unfortunatly i think ill be done spending money there again. when i was a young man i had a M1 go up in smoke from an overloaded factory round. i lost sight in one an eye over that, so im here to tell you it aint no fun. so selling ,or shall i say knowingly selling unsafe rifles ,is very very poor sportsmanship

I wouldn't look to CGN to do anything about this, look at what they let NEA get away with. Revenue uber alles.

and thats there call, there right to not if they feel thats best for them. personally i wouldnt want to be assosiated with anything that is going to hurt somebody. there are many customers out there not on GNs somebody is going to have a kboom i think unfortunatly. when that happens, this thread will most likely dissapear aswell
