We've seen and heard what has been done to the bolts to put these together. I'm wondering if anyone sees evidence of the lug seats in the receivers having been dicked with to get the bolts to fit. The angles on the face of the lug seats are critical to functionality and safety and should not be touched under any circumstances. Changing the angles or applying welds to the lug seats would make the receivers unserviceable and unfit for further use.

Being a long weekend, and most of the complaints about the poor workmanship and the rifles being unsafe really started on Friday. There might have been a few before that, but I posted mine on Saturday. Maybe John is waiting to get legal advise before putting anything out in writing. Knowing how lawyers are, I personally wouldn't put anything in a post responding to unsafe products I have sold or not as advertised without it being checked first. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. John has us to deal with, as well as the rifle company that ripped him off.
I wish John would respond to the issues, but I feel he is waiting till he gets his ducks in a row. Just my opinion, so please be gentle with me. Too many years in Procurement and dealing with risk adverse lawyers.
By the way, I put 24 rounds through my rifle before I read all of the posts and really checked out my rifle. Remember, mine had a lose barrel and ground bolt.

I am a lawyer and here's my advice. Recall every one of those rifles before someone gets hurt.
After someone gets hurt, Marstar and John1 will get sued. And the Plaitiff's counsel will use this thread to prove that Marstar ought to have been aware of the dangers posed to the public by these rifles.
The court would likely award punitive damages.
So these rifles arrived at Marstar. Surely someone there must have looked at them. Johnone had an overseas so called gunsmith put these together. They arrive at johnone's and nobody checks to see what kind of work was done on the rifles. Just rakes in the funds and ships to an unsuspecting public. When he should have called a halt to selling them as soon as he heard they are faulty. Instead he keeps on selling them and has no answers to the questions posed. He does not need a pink glow on his name it needs to blink red with a direct link to this thread.
I'm still in shock here. We know that John has visited this thread over the weekend, as some have seen him viewing it. But now he has returned and posted, and the only thing he does is comment on irrelevant side issues on previous employees! I think if he had lawyered-up already, he would have at least taken advice to stop making comments here. Wow. Given that he is willing to talk and post, his silence on this elephant in the room is amazing.
It may disappear from CGN but not the many other firearms forums where it has been posted. The global firearms community has seen how bad both the builder and the seller are.
I can 100% guarantee that this is the case. Everywhere from 4Chan to Facebook, the word is out that these are dangerous.
See the bold...John advertised these as Italian T2 rifles that have been in storage...This is a lie, and John knew it to be a lie. These are cobbled together rifles, done by an incompetent smith for $2000 cnd (John may not have known he was incompetent, but that's where due diligents comes in when John received them...for the lawyer here...res ipsa loquitur). I've bolded may because the aforementioned lies told by John prove him to be an individual undeserving of trust...he lies, and therefore most likely directed the smith to undertake these assemblies on receivers he'd received dirt cheap. John didn't care about the ramifications, he thought he would get away with humping these "things" (they're not T2's) onto us (Gun community) and no one would be the wiser, because he thinks we're stupid sheep...Sheep bite John!

I would suggest everyone tone down on calling for Marstar to be banned or any such foolishness. The CGN admin is perfectly capable of assessing whether any punitive action against a site sponsor is merited.
Hypothetically, Marstar may not have know that they were selling unsafe welded-lugged POS rifles with barrels that are drooping out of alignment with the bore axis and can be unscrewed by hand. In all likelihood they assumed they had good product and acted accordingly. No dealer disassembles their inventory to ensure it's not an unsafe grenade - or at least very few would.
Now that the issues have been pointed out to Marstar be CGNers who did the due diligence of a full tear down and inspection, the best course of action is to judge the dealer in question with their reaction to this very real crisis before anyone gets hurt, loses and eye, a finger, or a life.

All well and good, but all he had to do was come on here and say "we are looking into it". He couldn't even do that. Communication is key here, and he has, so far, failed miserably.
This. I'm glad I passed on one. I understand that maybe Marstar got swindled. That's entirely a possibility. My issue is that John is ACTIVELY IN THIS THREAD, has seen the upset buyers and the potentially dangerous defects, but has not tried to address this in any way, instead trying to pick fights with posters about some hot garbage disagreements from years ago. That alone sets off alarm bells.
Seems the stories were true. I'll never deal with them again.

120 Garands in 26 hours that makes 13 minutes per gun. It all depends how much that German professional was paid for. May be he was just paid for 13 minutes per rifle. Hard to blame him he posted all the photos of his work including time. If Hauck was trying to pull a fast one he would not brag about it on his internet webpage. Don't you thing guys?
If Hauck was going to pull a fast one he would not sign the rifles, Germany does not require this for export plus he would never post all the photos and information on his webpage. Would he be that stupid? He is a licensed gunsmith in Germany and doing such a thing would cost him his licence. This guns did not go to Africa but to Canada
