what a peice of work you are an erogant man. if someone gets hurt i sincerly hope you loose everything. you do not deserve to be part of this comunity here on nutz. your pathertic. not one thin dime will ever go to your bussness from me again.

I'm not going to place any bets, but I'm sure someone on here will make the wager.

J1 seems to love telling people to "prove it" with the wager being a donation to one of the orgs.

Maybe someone should make a wager along the lines of J1 "standing behind his products" and taking that rifle TooTall posted, unmodified, as witnessed by someone trustworthy, and shooting it repeatedly from a normal firing position. (Edit: without any face or eye protection)

I'm sure someone will pay 1$ to the cssa per shot taken.
Just to show that you value the lives of your customers the same as your own, and really believe these rifles are safe.

Today three weeks into the Marstar Garand Saga,, there are still 196 "Very Happy Customers".
Only four had the balls to leave negative feedback, that's 4 out of 200 dissatisfied or 2%, compared to 98 % very happy new T2 Garand owners.

After all they must be a great deal, the real thing, John1 got it right again.

ZDRAGUNOV;
I have never heard anything so absurd in all my life.
I Challenge you to prove me wrong....I say you are a liar

You are propagating false information, you have absolutely no knowledge
of what we purchased and from whom we purchased.

If I am wrong and you can provide confirmation of your statements I will pay you $1,000.
on the other hand if we don't see your proof we will assume you are,in fact, a blatant liar
and would expect you to donate $1,000. to the CSSA, how about it big mouth ?
John
Oh, my, look who bothered to show up. Somebody's begging to get his prostate tickled by the OPP again when one of these """""""""T2s""""""""""" inevitably shears and launches a bolt out the back of someone's skull.

Do you have anything to add to this thread other than harping about leaving feedback?

Several people have said they will leave feedback after their money has been returned.

I've never bought from Marstar before, but between this whole debacle and the lack of communication on their website, this just ensures they will never see a cent of my money. When the owner and CEO decides not to comment on any of these posts, except for one to call the poster a liar and then disappear again, as well as refusing to stand behind his own warranty, that just goes to show you what kind of person he really is.

3 hours later....1000 posts read.... I would like to thank everyone, I now know a sh*t ton about Garands. There are some very smart guys on here
who worked together, to expose this crap. I hope you all get your money/shipping back!!! And seriously hope no one is injured.

Question - I might be kicking a hornets nest here but there sure is a lot of downright angry people on this forum who want action...why not make the Feds aware of whats going on by lending one of these rifles to the RCMP or CFO to test fire/inspect? If it fails as predicted and blows up on a Government test range under controlled conditions, that would certainly get the ball rolling.

It would get the ball rolling in somehow prohibiting all m1 garands

We don't really need/want any Government "help" on this. People can examine the facts, draw their own conclusions and make their own decisions about how and where to spend their money.

We generally mock the sort of people who go running to government to solve all of their problems.

We call them Liberals.

Neither RCMP nor CFOs are our friends.

You don't ask folks who aren't your friends for help.

Fair enough. So what are the options? I did not buy one of these rifles, but I was tempted to the point that I called Marstar but they were sold out. Had I been quicker, I'd be squarely in this mess right now. Now I feel like I almost booked passage on the Titanic. I have no grounds in this particular case but I believe I share the same sentiment as a lot of others watching this thread - I'm an honest consumer, this situation seems pretty transparent, and I am bothered by the fact that a vendor that I previously supported lied and sold something unsafe to the public and resorts to name calling and insults on a public forum rather than addressing valid concerns. This whole thing is not right. How do we, as a community fix this and prevent it from happening again?

Its a great hobby and community I enjoy being a part of, but if this was my first milsurp purchase, it would drive me away for sure.

PS - I've had a world class education on certain points to look for when buying a Garand from reading this thread, thank you to everyone who posted the great info.

Maybe you're right, but it'd still be very unfortunate if someone did end up with a bolt inside their skull just so John could make a few bucks.

That's the worst part. Hard to believe they feel it less harmful to their business to risk the fallout from that than to eat the cost of 200 rifles, especially if consumer sales are such a whizz in their ocean, as John suggests.

Smarter folks than I need to figure that one out.

Is there any basis at all for a lawsuit for either the fraudulent advertising or sale of an unsafe product, or does a satisfaction guarantee and a foreign proof mark cover them?

I'd contribute to a legal fund...

Meanwhile we need a good picture of the markings applied by that hack gunsmith / proof house and post it with warnings on boards and at gun shows to avoid any rifle with those marks, or at least to check them thoroughly.
