T97 barrel issue AND NRR WISHLIST!!!

That's a damn fine looking gun!
Although the lack of an ejection port might be a bit problematic...

I think it's a forward ejection system, look just above the muzzle end of the side rail. It looks like it was ripped right off of an F2000

Not too stoked about the thumbhole stock though.

I would get a tavor too if it wasn't so expensive, but tavor doesn't release mag like ar15,

T97 is still a better looking gun, and its very slim.

Agreed! :) I'm quite happy with my T97.

The Tavor is very nice but not nice enough to warrant $3K to me.

Although, I would not complain if my wife surprised me with one for my birthday.

yep thumb hole is the plastic part i dont like, magwell also looks overdone
keep that part the same and it would be my ideal rifle. sleek, with all the toys you can attach on there.

I am a little late to the thread but i want to point out that the "we have been building these for yearsso there should be no problems" excuse is not valid. It seems all the problems are associated to the export models change in caliber.

Ive never dealt with canam but preordered when I thought there was still a chance of them making the fall 2013 eta. Is there a way to opt-out so my card isn't charged in the future? Would calling be easiest?

They will not charge you until it comes in and then they will still call you to get conformation before they do any charging. If you want to take your name off the list tho just send email.

I think we should have a list of "all" the changes Canam is making to the Type 97 soonish. Some of the mods previous post suggested I wouldn't want on my Type 97, so it's good to know what I'm getting and decide between the NSR/NRR(CSR :p)

Or I might get both and swap parts between the two to get exactly what I want :D

I would want the next gen QBZ to look like this artist rendering. but get rid of some of the plastic at the back.

looks cool but not functional, great for an project or video game but.... Judging by the look it's still using rock/tilt in magazine which means the bottom of magazine will have to tilt forward when being removed. in that case the mag well is too far forward. not only does that mean there's a lot of wasted space in the stock, look at the lack of space between the mag and the back edge of the grip. there wouldn't be enough room for the magazine to tilt. seems like this rendition was modified from the FN F2000, which works fine for it because it uses straight insert AR mags

Yeah, if it was modification of the Type 97, there'd be no problem. Still, I don't see why they would make that over releasing the QBZ 97-1 =P

You must be a very optimistic person if you actually think this model will be here by the 21st .
T97's are readily available & the price of them is falling faster than the Canadian dollar .

Yes, the other day, I saw a seller advertising them for 850$, I almost grabbed one, but I'm still hoping to see canam release their updated version. I hope we will see it soon, at least before spring 2014.

I like mine when can ams come in I might buy one if it's a big improvement. I like mine it's not very ergonomic however it suits my needs for now. I like it my first bull pup I think a tavor might be in my future though. Still I can't complain it's decent my next purchases are optics for a bunch of stuff. Still not sure what I want on the t97

Hey CanAm, if you can't import the Type 97-1 yet, can you import the Type 97 version of the Chinese Police QBZ 95 that has rails built into the handguard? :D
