T97.ca FTU initial impression

It's very nice. How does it work with the T97? Is the PEPR mount too high?

It's without a doubt a bit high. Still usable however, just cheek weld isn't optimal.
I tried with a second set of very low rings but they ended up being too low(the bell on the scope was touching the rail) so I'll have to stick with the PEPR for now.

Got my FTU. Over the last few weeks I had grown to really like my t97 stock and wondered if I really wanted to chop it up. Well I must say I'm glad I did. It's awesome!! Install was easy. Had to grind a little off the top corners of the rear sight stanchion. Other than that easy as pie. It's a huge improvement to the rifle. It just makes me want the lower even more now. I just slammed a couple different optics on it to try shouldering it.
First is a sight mark Holosight and magnifier. It's the same height as eotech or other standard AR optics. Was hoping to use the magnification for coyote hunting. It feels the best for comfort and cheek weld. However it is bulky and heavy. Also the height over bore might be a huge problem.

Secondly is a trs-25 much more sleek and compact. Kinda what I hope to keep this rifle. However no magnification and I find I really have to squeeze the cheek weld down hard to get a good sight.

Probably the best way to go is a 1-4x scope. Got my eotech up for trade in the EE maybe I'll get lucky and pick up a scope to try.
If you have a t97 and don't have a FTU get one!!

Hey Lobster_pot,

What's the verdict on the first setup with the sight mark holopoint? Is the sight over bore an issue or not. I haven't gotten my FTU yet and I'm trying to decide on an optic. I'm looking at the sightmark, the trs-25 or the Vortex Spark. Any input?
