T97 for Lefties - simple solution?

I would have to say no because the shell casing would still hit us in the face. I can only see it done if you're shooting from a bench and after every shot before you move your face away from it. As a lefty, I would never touch a T97 because because of the ejection port. that being said, I wouldn't mind shooting a T88 because I would shoot it from a bench. Another method you can try for lefties to use the T97 is what my father told me back in his day in the Korean army (and possibly what the chinese military is using today): beat them senseless till they start shooting right handed properly.

Duct tape a piece of cardboard over the port. Do not try to fire it left handed i tried it today and i have a huge gash on my lip almost need stitches i can post a pic if wanted

A shell deflector would have to be big enough to direct the casings downward. Not worth taking hot brass in the face from a gun that is not even remotely left hand friendly.

For those of you that have a T97, which direction does the casing fly out? I remember reading 12-1 o'clock sort of direction, and was hoping it would be like that. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but with the snap caps in, and just manually pulling back the charging handle very fast, it flies out more like 4-5 o'clock, and about 20 feet. I don't know if that will somehow change when the rifle is actually fired with a live round, or what's the deal. Which way do they fly?

Between 1 and 2 o'clock and about 30 ft on mine with steel-cased Wolf.

OUCH that lip looks sore. There was a lefty shooting at the range yesterday and MAN did that thing fling the brass far. It would be hitting your face HARD.
