T97 picture thread

Hey cbabes .. when did you buy your T97? I've never seen one with the s/n starting at 14### only 13###.........

A few days ago. :D

I used to hear a lot issues with these but a few friends had some good ones. I took a chance and love it. Shot well over 100 rounds yesterday trying to get a malfunction but it was flawless. I know that's not a lot of rounds but so far so good.

I have also recently joined the club :

Sight's just a $50 CT-bought Tasco. It does the trick until I can scrounge up a couple hundred bucks for something nicer.
Waiting on a pair of M14.ca rails for the front slots, I like the "aggressive" look of empty rails.
I darkened all the writing on mine so it's only visible if you look up-close. Hadn't at the time I took these quick pics though. Not a fan of bright stand-out writing on my rifles.

No downside to using a 3-point with these as shooting them lefty is a pain anyways.

Honestly, Type 97 = 29.8" OAL of pure Non-restricted fun.

Mine's a 14###x as well. Perhaps the first two digits are the year of manufacture?

DX Extreme is where I ordered mine. The best Chinese knock off site out there.

The reviews for some of the stuff on there are promising. Have you bought a lot there? NCStar quality or worse?
I'm seriously considering trying them out, those prices are unreal even for knockoffs.

A lot of you guys have low profile optics on your FTUs. Just curious if there is a cheek weld issue with regular height options? Seems fine for me so far.

I have no issue with mine as the FTU has more then enough rise for comfortable shooting for me with a low optic.

Yeah I think the FTU is good for different height mounts. I tried my new Holosun red dot with the high mount so I could keep the BUIS on and co-witness. Cheek was fine. Really having fun with the T97. Definitely not fast enough on mag changes to use in a match though.

I know, crappy quality.

I blacked out the make/model and serial. They're clearly visible up-close but, won't show well on film or in pics. Not a fan of bold white writing on a black rifle.

I had to file down PCV's .50 beo mags a bit - mostly at the spine and the outside of the feed lips - to fit properly.

I put a Burris Fastfire III on for now. It's tiny, and really preserves your peripheral vision well. Such a small reflex sight is great for quick shooting - like taking out pumpkins and cans of tomatoes at 25-100 meters. I might put a trijicon accupoint 1-4 on the FTU, but it's currently on something else and I would need to replace it.

And the bayonet is just for fun (when those pumpkins get too close).
