T97 picture thread

I had to file down PCV's .50 beo mags a bit - mostly at the spine and the outside of the feed lips - to fit properly.

I put a Burris Fastfire III on for now. It's tiny, and really preserves your peripheral vision well. Such a small reflex sight is great for quick shooting - like taking out pumpkins and cans of tomatoes at 25-100 meters. I might put a trijicon accupoint 1-4 on the FTU, but it's currently on something else and I would need to replace it.

And the bayonet is just for fun (when those pumpkins get too close).

Aside from the LGH if/when it comes out and possibly a left handed mag-release. I'd say it's just about complete.
Maybe a flashlight on one side and a laser on the other when I feel like running out of batteries in the woods.

Still need to get myself a nice custom fit case eventually too.

Nice paint!

Here is the most recent pic of mine. I'm on month 6 on the paint, and it's still going strong.

And from the range the other day, with the SKS, and Jericho 941.

Nice additions. How do the mags work for you?

Thanks man!
The rifle shoots so well now. It had a bit of a break in period, but shoots flawlessly now. Needless to say I can't wait for the lower hand guard to be released.

I used to have a stock first gen type 97, not bad but it had problems like poor optic mounting and controls. Sold it off due to not liking it as much at my AR15 type rifle. However, I now find myself with very limited access to ranges where I can shoot an AR15 so I'm giving the Type 97 another go. In this case it is a first gen that has been worked over by GrensVegter with his installation of an FTU rail, modified feed ram, casing deflector, and ambidextrous mag release & bolt releases. This is so much better than the original stock version! The scope is a Vortex PST 1-4x in an ARMS 35 mount with low rings. Pmags require a minor shave to the sides of the rear spine to fit.

This GrensVegter have a website that he sells these bits out of? Because I've done a few ambi mag release mods for people that approached me and that's just from me putting up photos of my rifle. I'm sure there's people that would give him business if they knew how to get in touch with him.

That is his CGN handle, I've told him the same thing but he is a bit of a recluse when it comes to soliciting work. This was one of his personal rifles that he passed on to me rather than me having him do the work for me.

I the past he has built a pair of matching tube guns that we used to win the BCPR precision match several years ago. He has also performed reconstructive surgery on my DCRA #4 mk1* by rebuilding the back of the receiver, it had been milled down to fit a target sight (not the proper Parker Hale one). Now you would have to know what you where looking for to tell that the receiver is not original and unmodified.

There have been other posts that have shown his work in the past, they are often met with "shut up and take my money" sort of responses. He is working on an amazing custom rifle right now but I'll leave it up to him to post it.
