Optics mounting takes less than a minute. Easiest mounting evar..

too bad that carry handle isn't removable for a rail and scope.. i hate carry handles.

It's a feature found on the Famas. It's the surrender handle!!

I prefer a flat top but... in this case this is a low cost bullpup and the carry handle is fine for me.

Looks straightforward to chop the carry handle and install a much lower flat top. Perhaps a modified charging handle protruding to the left at a 45deg angle?

Is it striker fired?

With all of this T97 hype going around for all these months ill be honest I had zero interest in owning one of these rifles. Nothing to do with it being a Norinco. Just didn't see a reason for it in my stable owning multiple Tavors. After seeing all these great pics from members finally getting their hands on them I'm starting to change my mind. I'm a huge Bullpup fan and after looking at the horrible optics mounting options I think I'm going to grab one just too start doing what I do and modify it with either a riser for actual cheek weld instead of chin weld. Or even remove the carry handle all together. I think it's worth the price just to get my modification skills active.

Oh and by the way nice rifles guys. Congrats on finally receiving you long sought after rifles.

Lucky prick... mine was supposed to arrive today, but got delayed till tomorrow.

Mine was sent out a few days ago as well. You'll no doubt get yours before mine shows up. Looking at a few more days in the mail.

Oh and one side note. I'm really glad I avoided buying Pmags. I held off due to concerns regarding compatibility with my Tavor. Then the price issues. Now the T97 apparently doesn't like Pmags but the D&H mags I bought apparently work well. I use the same mags for my AR rifles, Tavor and when the T97 shows up.

Got mine last night...it far exceeds my expectations...now to see how it shoots.

I though it shouldered very well and felt very natural.
Disassembly was a breeze!
Its a very nicely done package!!

Couple small thinks..
1. The cocking handle for ME, was a bit awkward...I'll adapt
2. Check for "stuffing" in the action. Mine was full of disintegrating white papery stuff...in the mag and action. Give it a good disassembly before use.

Has anyone here actually shot the damned rifle with iron sights?

Seems like these things are just coming out of the box fresh in from the mail and everyone is 5hitting their pants about how they are going to chop up and Tac Weld an optic on it before even shooting it bare lol

The design of the rifle being what it is, looks like it makes optics about as practical on the T97 as they were when they tried to mount them on top of the old A1 carry handle AR15's. Just my 2 cents I haven't even handled one let alone fired one.

Can't wait to try one out.

I haven't but that's because I need to run optics on it. I liked the battle (300m) aperture, very easy for sight acquisition and am almost tempted to get another one just to run it stock, but I don't spend that much time in the bush and got other firearms budgeted, including a shotty (3gun), a norc 75 (as backup in case the Shadow needs to get fixed) and maybe another handgun (don't ask lol).

I put 100rds through it yesterday with the irons. Worked alright for me I was off hand at 25yds and could keep all the rounds in the black, once you figured out your point of aim. Recoil was light enough I could keep a sight picture while dumping the mag.

The thing I don't like on it is the charging handle but I have an idea to fix that.Just got to get to my buddies machine shop.
