T97 Recoil Spring

Let us know how the AK spring works Jarvy!

I have one on order since you mentioned trying the low recoil version. I also ordered an xp M1A spring. Thought it might be modified to work with the #2 gas setting.

The low recoil AK spring I tried could barely be cocked by hand. The standard spring Ive dropped in is much more promising, though I still expect to be snipping coils.

Standard AK recoil spring works well. I snipped about 6 coils off because I found it difficult to ####, but after I had no issues with a variety of brass and steel cased ammunition. The recoil impulse is significantly reduced, felt like a carbine gas AR15.

I know this thread is old, but I'm taking a run at replacing the t97 gen2 spring with a Wolf M14/M1a spring. Before I start cutting I'm wondering if anyone else has had success with 11 3/16 ? Lavino maybe... did you get around to doing the replacement?

The full length of the wolf is 15 7/16

I’m going to try a Wolff XP M14 spring on #2 pretty soon.

It seems I report success a little too quickly.
