That's why I bought mine. The Tavor trigger on the other hand is downright awful.

Thanks for the interest everyone! We just went over some stress and durability testing today. We figured we would try to essentially wreck it/figure out the obvious screw ups.
This resulted in us deciding to just try beef it up just in case. Had a look at where I could add material to it and how much.
Better safe than sorry am I right? And who doesn't love stuff when it's more durable?

Just curious why you don't just get them waterjet or lasered? They don't seem to have any machining required from the pics (I don't own a T87 to check)
I had SS lever loops waterjet in calgary for around $50-75 a piece (without the machining) so I'd think those could get cut out of high grade aluminum 6061 or 7075 for around $10-20 a piece. I also had 5 savage bolt handles done out of 6061 for about $20 a piece though they require some simple machine work after the fact.

Looking like $30 + shipping at this point.
You're absolutely right. Two major reasons though.
1. Cost of prototyping. Way cheaper to prototype the 10+ different versions and alter them as you go. If I went through to the waterjet/laser guys then I would be constantly paying their minimum order fee for single pieces. I'd have to charge a lot more to recoup my prototyping costs.
2. They suck. The guys around here are terrible. I've had work done and been horrified. One time I sent in a circle ring with 4 evenly space holes in it (a square) for waterjet cutout in 6061-t6 aluminum. Ring came back oval and the holes were out by over 0.125" and not square. I complained. They responded with, "deal with it". I need HIGH accuracy for this project. The effect a 100th of an inch has on the trigger pull is drastic. I work in 1000ths of an inch. The few companies in my area (Saskatoon), seem to work in 10ths.
If these work out well and there are no problems, I would be more than happy to outsource the fabrication to someone in Calgary/Edmonton/Toronto. But it would have to be a very large batch. That's the only way these guys will give me a deal. Otherwise, I have the benefit of full quality control and accuracy of parts by doing it myself right now. The other benefit of water/laser cutting is that I could easily move to a soft steel for little cost increase.
Okay. Here's the update.
Two options:
1. Continue with the newly reinforced version out of 6061-t6 aluminum. Cost would stay the same.
2. Take a gamble on laser cut mild steel. The gamble is that 3 out of 3 shops I contacted said the part was too detailed to be cut on their waterjet/laser/HD plasma. However, I have called in a favour and there may be a chance a friend can cut them from steel on his laser. I'm waiting for a confirmation on this. IF it does happen, cost would be increased due to him needing to make some money off this. Upside is that it's steel. Should be the same as the original arm for strength. Downside is it's steel. I have no idea what grade/specs are on the steel the T97 is made from. There is a risk that the North American steel used to make these will be harder than the steel they used to construct the gun (I've had my issues with Chinese unmarked steel). This would mean that the original gun parts, namely the safety and trigger pieces, would wear out and hard to find replacement parts.
