T97A Final Verdict?

I would buy one too, but after the Newtown shooting, I don't know how the RCMP is going to allow these rifles to be sold as non-restricted. I like the bullpup design better than the AR15 design. It looks more comfortable to shoot.
 
If it meets criteria it will be sold as unrestricted. Dont assume the RCMP has powers that they dont. Newton is in the US, we are here. Their laws are there, our laws reign here. Until they change the firearms act the definitions remain the same.
 
Anyone know if there is going to be anything aftermarket readily availble for the pistol grip...that s**t is made for tiny chinese hands.
 
Waiting since July 2008!!! Deposit placed, and still there!

1. Will the price still be $849
2. Will it still include the 2 mags and BONUS optic rail??? (This was a deal they had at the time)
 
^ probably not, all the retailers are posting them for $999, I'm personally waiting for others to take the dive first, I'd like to hear some range reports before I sink a g-note into a new norc gun. Add in the tiny pistol grip and that's enough for me to wait until a local dealer has one I can finger f**k @ his shop for a few minutes. Made that expensive mistake with my RFB (overall length on a RFB is to short to be comfortable for me I can't get down behind the optic I had wanted to use unless I put a riser on it which I hadn't accounted for, it was disappointing to have to spend more $ because of my lack of research), I don't want to repeat it with a type 97. Cool looking toy for under 1k (like that price point wasn't pre-planned.....) but I'd rather save a little more $ and build a mid level quality AR, but that's me and I don't mind the restricted/non-restricted garbage because I only shoot at the range. I thought 2013 was going to be a great year for Canadian gun owners until that product of incest Lanza retard decided he'd f**k it all up for everyone and do something so heinously stupid. Now our retarded southern bretheren are panic buying everything in site right now, down to the lowliest .22 cal accesories. The US government should let each one of us gun owners take a swing at the post mortem pinata that is Adam Lanza until he is pulp. Then use him as fertilizer that we could throw on the steps of the state department....too far? All of it is just another reason why you'll pay more for the same north of the Mason/Dixon line....... beyond ridiculous...

I'm shocked that with so much money on the line there did not appear to be effective legal representation involved; no counter expert, relied on internet evidence... seriously?
 
There is a lot more to it than that.

the above is a customs tariff class dispute, not a court case.

This is what I hope has been dealt with by the T97NSR so the CBSA lets them in for sale. From the written reasons:

"The problem, however, lies with the fact that the manufacturer has taken very little away from the original nature of the firearms in issue in the process and such nature can be restored in a matter of seconds."; AND

"In actual fact, the firearms in issue never cease to be fully automatic firearms. They still contain the internal sears for fully automatic mode, as found in the original QBZ97 model. In other words, the firearms in issue contain a fully automatic firing mechanism, which can be easily re-engaged as described above. The notch selector mechanism in the firearms in issue can be easily and rapidly overridden so as to permit fully automatic firing, as it was originally designed to function."
 
I finally got around to reading the full court case decision. From what I can see, it looks like Norinco bent CanAm over and went in dry. They didn't deliver the product they said they would. They didn't weld the spacers like they were supposed to. They sent a full-auto gun that simply has an external blockage so you couldn't flip the selector to auto when they were supposed to be making a semi-auto rifle.

Would this be accurate?
