TACCOM24 Sterling arms R18 mk3 .223

The Lightweight buttstock is what I was referring to, yes. AKDAS are apparently already making a proprietary version that includes a 1913 interface so this would be plug and play. It would avoid a redesign of the folding stock altogether, and offer some flare for the MCX-at-home crowd.

I suspect JR probably thought of it but if he's reading this, it would be interesting to have his input -- even having this stock available as a separate option would be great.

The AKDAS Lightweight Collapsing Stock appears to be a 1 for 1 copy of the SIG MPX Buttstock. If it is a direct copy as it appears, then the Length of Pull (designed for a Subgun/PCC), will be quite short. That's not the main problem though. The bigger issue is that the Buttstock rail runs right where the Left side Charging System lies resulting in a no-go for that collapsing style of Buttstock.

Gotcha, thank you for clarifying!

I like the idea of making a selection of add-ons available. Make and sell the only one base model to keep the price low and manufacturing process streamlined, but allow for OEM and after-market accessories compatibility.

Manufacturer already did what he should - 1913 interface, now go nuts with zillion of customizable options, left, right and so on. I have similar on my pc9.

I'm going with the Lage Manufacturing Buttstock available with various options through A Z T E C H Armoury. Be sure to look on page 2 , which has the Picatinny interface. It is available with 1/2" spacers to increase the Length of Pull if required. I have these Buttstocks on several of my PCCs and really like them - very solid lockup, including when folded. The folding mechanism is easily reversible from Left to Right. I prefer this aesthetic over a Buffer-Tube based system.

The buffer tube length of pull system came into existence because of the AR. If a design doesn't have moving parts in the butt, why bother with it. Lots more options without a buffer tube.

it allows for a stupidly wide number of stock options off the bat with only needing switch one part and not a whole assembly ? Plus AR stocks tend to be some of the best designed.

I am an SL-S and BCM GF mod 0 enjoyer personally adjustable LOP > Folding .

Having both is nice but I value the LOP more than the ability to make a rifle more compact for when it's not in use

When will this be available for purchase? I need one ASAP.
According to JR Cox, SAI is aiming for a release date in Late November, or December. That said, if it takes longer for SAI to complete their high round-count testing, then sales will be delayed as necessary. SAI doesn't intend to release the rifle until it is ready for prime-time. Watch and shoot....

Holy hell that's hot. If there's a way to widen or lower the tracks so it doesn't interfere with the charging handle just for storage I would be all over this, it doesn't even need to fire while collapsed.

That's an encouraging timeline, I for one would prefer they take the time to test well. Given JR said they want it to be solid and not leave testing to customers (paraphrasing). We all know how typical (at least in appearance) that has been for some of our local manufacturers...

I can wait. It will give me more time to save for a restricted version. But JR is awesome for doing this and I wish other companies would follow suit. They would have better rifles, happier customers and great reviews.
