I'm in the market for a tactical style 10/22. I'm looking for advice on what stock to go with or to just get an sr22. Cost is a factor but want a decent setup, my options are sr22 , a Nordic components, ati ar22, archangel556 or a Troy chassis. I would prefer less expensive but want quality. I know archangel is all plastic . The ati looks great anyone have some experience with these stocks that could give some insight thanks

i went the nordic components route, have all real ar15 parts attached to it, has that quality "big gun" feel to it. All parts fitted up to the chassis perfectly and the build quality is excellent. Probably one of my favourite firearms that i own.

This is the direction I went... but I run it without a scope now. Great little grouse and bunny gun.

Well SR22 and Nordic is pretty much the same kit, Just engraved SR22 and AR556 is just the plastic version of both.

ATI22 one I thought was stupid when they put the fake charging handle and forward assist.

I dont like my SR22/Nordic because I cannot remove the action w/o removing the top cover that uses the stock drilled/tapped holes for the scope mount.

I added the Dlask rails and barrel, it was a bit too front heavy for my liking... :) I like the Boyds stock better, Makes it more usable and doesn't look like a wannabe AR... lol...

Yup, that's the main problem... And the receiver is made out of aluminium so worn thread could/would be an issue on the long run.

I saw a video where a guy pried it out but I tried and nope I'm not risk pulling out threads or breaking alum. I just clean it half ass.

I can see a folding stock or a takedown, but what is wrong with a standard 1022 stock? Or maybe a hogue overmold. But a 1022 will never look like a AR... You will probably shoot better with a standard stock.... Buy ammo with the saved money...hmmmm

Half the fun of having a Ruger 10/22 is to build it like you want.

When I build a tactical 10/22 i don't want it to look like an AR, I just want a tactical 10/22.

well speaking for myself, i went with the troy t22 chassis because it has the best BUIS you can get, troy pop up sights integrated into a full length rail. also its a light weight aluminum chassis that protects my barrel, and its a slim profile not bulky with quad rails. i've got mine set up as a 12.5 inch barrel with a troy claymore muzzle break the barrel ends just beyond the chassis.

I have an ATI strike force and I like it, but its not the best setup. You have to remove the top shroud to clean, and it does clamp the barrel a bit and the receiver screw hole is a little woosey. I can however shoot it more accurately than the stock stock as the ergonomics are great and the adjustable LOP allows me to get a more natural cheeckweld. I would buy it agin but certainly there are better options if accuracy is priority one.

Good luck with your decision.

I had the Nordic component , full rails and a tac sol aluminum barrel. The weight wasn't an issue but the hand guard with rails is bulky, kinda like holding on to a big stick of bolony :) When I do it again , I'll try the Troy and a tac sol barrel.

Pistol grip stocks are a lot more comfortable to use and carry for extended periods of time. I personally hate the over used cliche term "tactical" as the stock has nothing to do with the word. Looking for a "pistol grip stock" is a much better description of the current trends in aftermarket stocks.

I had the T22 and it was far from light. Once completed with a simple 1-4x optic my 10/22 weighed almost the same as my AR. It's a great chassis except it requires full disassembly to clean the gun and it's made by a company that hires anti gun thugs who participate in unlawful killing of citizens.

F**k Troy
