Tactical/Modded SKS Picture Thread (can we sticky this?)

Ill play.....

SKS with our new Sabertooth aluminium stock, wartak rail, 3-9 tactical scope, our new extended mag release, barrel chop & thread.

By far the best looking modded sks I've seen! Your site only shows camo options. Do you have solid colours available? Is that the 3 piece ati furniture kit you have on it? Any modification to the rifle needed to fit in to that beautiful chassis?

Choat folding stock
Dragunov cheek riser
Magwedge rail
leupold VX3 1.5x5x illuminated duplex with 30mm tube
burris low profile rings
Hical adapter for XCR mags

Haven't posted it here so may as well.

Copied directly from another thread.

Cant wait to get it out this weekend! :D

ATI Strikeforce Side Folding Stock
HiCal XCR Pistol Mag Adapter.
Bushnell 3200 3-9x on a Wartak Scope Rail.
Bipod/Vert Grip combo, cheapo but hey it works for my basic softcore uses haha.
NcStar Light/Laser combo just for picture mall ninja factor.......for some reason it just wont die.
Internal rubber recoil buffers.
Haven't messed with internal springs, trigger or anything so far.

From another thread, here's how the gun performed using the mag adapter in the factory stock.

30 round group left, 2 1/4" shootin every 2-3 seconds or so, another 20 on the right 1 1/4" on surplus ammo, this target I was using the bipod on a bench.

Lower string was just sighting in tuning. Target was setup at 75 yards.

Here is another post of mine with some videos.

First is me just letting rounds fly down range just to show off the gun and make a racket.

Next up is me testing 7.62x39mm ammunition fed from a 5.56mm PMag in the SKS with the XCR adapter.

Fires no problem, ejects no problem. Has to be inserted on open bolt and I only have the one mag around and it did not engage the bolt hold open.

Can't hear me at times but oh well who cares the visual lets ya see everything in motion.

very cool!! where did you get the pistol grip,
how hard was is to install and is there enough room under it for your thumb with the wood stock?

Tapco gets bashed a lot, but I like it because it fits tight, and it isn't too bulky. Once you mod the pistol grip to avoid removal, it works great. Throw on any commercial spec M4 stock as well. I also like to use a different handgaurd with them too.

How do you mod the pistol grip to avoid removal? I'm assuming you mean so that the trigger group can be removed for cleaning without having to remove the pistol grip?
That is pretty much the only thing stopping me from getting a Tapco stock - I shoot mostly corrosive ammo, and I'm a bit anal (ok, a lot anal...) about tear-down for cleaning...
I wasn't keen on having to remove the pistol grip everytime...

Edit: just noticed the date on the original post - I'm a little behind the times... :)

Here's a mediocre video that explains the mod.

Basically, there are two ridges that prevent the trigger group from pulling through the grip. You need to lessen/remove the ridges with a dremel.

That will work, still a bit of a struggle by the looks of it, but it will work. I thank you, kind sir :)
Beats h*ll out of stripping the threads in the plastic from removing\re-installing all the time.

Edit: At least, I assume that the bolt\screw threads into the plastic part of the stock - never had one in hand to look at.

Wheeeee! Now I can go spend some more money :)

Is that the 3 piece ati furniture kit you have on it? Yes, 3 pc on special for $99
Any modification to the rifle needed to fit in to that beautiful chassis? No, drop in fit & takes all the AR furniture!

These handle great as well

Put a thumbhole timbersmith stock on it, as well as a PSO. Still need to replace the bayonet with a bipod.

Think I might need to buy another and put one of those sabertooth kits on it, they look badass.

I would not call mine tactical but a modernize SKS,this rifle is awesome to hold, she have 0 rounds down the pipe yet,It's an Izzy refurb.

I see a few of those expensive 10 round pistol magazine adapters on here. How do they feed? Do they run good?
