Had a bit of spare time today, here's what I worked on this morning.
Started with an already bubba'ed SKS, so...
- cut and recrowned the barrel to 18.5 inches;
- salvaged the front sight, reinstalled it;
- threaded the muzzle, installed muzzle brake (this one came from Corwin arms);
- drilled and tapped the receiver, installed Crazy Yvan detachable scope mount;
- fitted all that in a ATI "Dragunov"-style stock I had in the parts bin.
Will be at the range tomorrow because, more free time, woohoo!!!

10 rounds chinese surplus at 100 meters prone shooting off a bag![]()

I'm a big fan of the choate folding stock. They use a steel folder that has been very dependable
'67 Factory 26 heavily refurbed. Most parts are not original to the rifle. Has needed a few repairs and parts fitted properly. It was clearly smashed together out of parts bins. It had the worst SKS trigger I've ever seen, the magazine required considerable fitting, the gas tube latch was bent out and there are hammer marks in the rear sight base from someone smashing it? The buttplate screw holes were completely stripped. They were drilled out and 3/8" dowel was epoxied in before redrilling the holes. The muzzle guide in the cleaning kit needed a little massaging to fit through the hole in the buttplate. It has a super tactical chinese surplus sling and an ultra tactical surplus chest rig. It even has 2 crates of period correct chinese surplus M43 for the ultimate in 1960s tactical tacticaling. This is pre-shoulder thing that goes up.
