Tactical/Modded SKS Picture Thread (can we sticky this?)

If you have a wholesale sports they sell the wartak one for $99! I paid $129 online dammit

Wholesale sports is halfway across the country for me :( Oh well, once I get some bills sorted and figure out how much money I have left over after buying a car yesterday, I will set some money aside for important things. Ammo and optics.

This is my baby. 1953 Tula SKS. Tasco Reddot Sight, NC Star Muzzle brake and bipod. UTG quad rail with covers, FAB defense folding foregrip, Tapco 5/20 mag, fibre optic front sight post, Intrafuse stock, extended magazine release, recoil buffer fitted inside the receiver, VLTOR butt stock. All she needs now is some trigger work and she'll be my next coyote killer. Major thanks to HiCal.ca for most of the things you see on this rifle.

looks good! very similar to the way mine was before I slimmed it down and went with the archangel stock. keep an eye on your recoil buffer it will start to crack and then jam up the action. I have heard nothing good about them. really dont need it IMO. how did you black out your bolt?

My SKS with trigger and firing pin upgrade and the TECH SIGHT 200 peep sight:

I miss my tech sights, pair it with a fiber optic front post and you have the best iron sights on an SKS IMO

when I had my utg quad rail on I tried ar front and rear sights. the kwik rail and the utg quad rail almost line up perfectly. id say the utg quad rail is about 1/16" lower than the kwik rail. it looked cool tho. Im happy running my vortex red dot anyways

need a different scope ring because the scope is way to high for me but just added the AA stock, new dust cover quade rail and red dot.

Have enjoyed viewing all posts. I have only recently "joined the SKS club", it hasn't even arrived yet. It's just a Chinese SKS + ammo combo from Canam, but I've never really been a fan of red rifles so I'll probably go for a Tapco stock to "modernize" it. The Archangel stock looks good except for the buttstock (too clunky, not esthetic IMO) and it's overpriced. The ATI gets bad reviews so forget that.

my biggest annoyance with the Tapco stock is removing the grip to do a full dis assembly. i imagine the plastic will only last so long before it's worn out from removing that screw.

thats my gripe with it as well, it looks like they made an attempt at giving you the option of taking the trigger out without removing the grip. but they kinda gave up? Apparently a dremmel fixes er right up.

I love that stock! veddy nice! What break is that?
Thanks! I wanted to do a black SKS that differs from the ones we usually see and I didn't want to "clunk" it up either.
Making it modern and unique but also keeping it lean and functional was my goal.

It's amazing how the front grip attached to the rail I added and longer mag transform the look of what is a rather well known stock.
It's a pretty long rifle now too which is a bonus and REALLY comfortable to hold, shoulder and shoot.

The brake/flash hider is from Choate. Had never seen them before so I bought 3 lol!
