They do it for one reason and one reason only-----SPAM, to create bickering between forum members. In other forums, people that post spam get notified and if it continues, get banned. There is nothing useful, or helpful in his original post. If he works for the CFO office, and supplied references where this has impacted legit gunowners, then that maybe a different story, but that is obviously not the case. Even more to reflect this is that he is specific to 'shadow 2's' and 'Ontario', which shows intent as it is geared towards a particular gun and a particular province when the reality is that gun laws are federal, and not to a specific model. As per my original reply, why would anyone appoint themselves chief nanny and write this post in the first place?
in this country the police are not in the habit of stopping folks who are going about their business in a lawful manner.
As per my original reply, why would anyone appoint themselves chief nanny and write this post in the first place? Is it your job to police all the members here on CGN, do you know that people are in fact doing what you accuse them of? Sometimes reg certs only take a couple days to arrive, not weeks. It's absolutely ridiculous that these kinds of threads get posted. Next we'll have a thread about putting 9mm bullets in 40 mags...

Having ridden HD motorcycles in this country for 40 years I can tell you that comment is 100% incorrect.
Lastly, one other thing I have learned over the course of my lifetime is in this country the police are not in the habit of stopping folks who are going about their business in a lawful manner. The only time I have had any conversations outside of social interactions with police officers has been around Christmas when they set up road inspections for drinking and driving and when I have on a few occasions found myself being reminded about the highway speed limits. In the latter case, an early admission of my guilt and a polite apology has left me with a warning ticket and a "have a nice day". There are well discussed exceptions to all of this butr those instances are not the rule. They are the exceptions.
Total BS, maybe that's how it works where you live. Where I live the police are more interested in harassing and building their egos then "serving and protecting". As a law abiding citizen this has been my experience with them. Don't trust a police officer, they will kick you in the face while you are down on the ground cooperating with their instructions or maybe sucker punch you in the face for questioning why they are harassing you.
You watch way to much TV. How many times have you been kicked by a Police Officer? Or punched in the face by one? Answer is none. If you have, walk or run to your local newspaper and then with a lawyer in hand down to the local police station. If you are going to print innuendos man up and tell us what city you live in.

You seem to be really into my business. I have had very bad dealings with LEO which did lead to action against them and I live in Victoria, the particulars of which are none of your business. I don't trust a police officer as far as I could throw one. Just because you have had different experiences doesn't mean I am not entitled to share my experience or my opinion, it is a forum after all. If you can't handle someone disagreeing with you then you should not be on here.
Telling me I watch too much TV just shows complete ignorance, but hey, it's the internet.
So one bad experience says all police are the same and your experience is the norm. You didn't share your experience you tared and continue to tar every officer with the same brush as if your experience was common, Well it isn't and when it happens you have legal redress and compensation if their actions were not justified. If they were justified then re-think your own actions. Sad to hear you don't trust those who would protect you. You should seek counselling for your own good. But hey it is the internet and you likely won't.

In Ontario that's a big NONO until you have received your FRC. A lot of people mistakenly believe that they can take their brand new pistol to the club under the mistaken belief that the Transfer Notification (Buyer) form allows them to do that as soon as they receive it. Be careful because in Ontario (I don't know about the other Provinces) you can be charged for unauthorized transportation of a restricted firearm. If you don't believe me, just call the CFO of Ontario.

Yes this thread was CLOSED then it was reopened. Contrary to what you say or believe, it certainly wasn't my intention to create a thread where people would argue back and forth on what I believe is a serious subject. There are so many differing opinions on this issue from province to province. Obviously nothing is written in stone regarding this. If you feel that it's ok to take your gun to the range prior to receiving the FRC then do so. I know that I won't.
Can you quote the actual law that supports your post? This is very confusing.
Bob, where exactly was I insinuating anything about confirmation letters? Here is my reply, again,
