That would be my first AR.
I have a hard on for one.
Any negative ?
Better options ?
I know nothing about black guns.

They are overpriced.
You can get the same gun with same quality for $500 to $800 less.
For example Windham Weaponry, Core15, Stag Arms, Spike tactical, BCM, Daniel Defense...the list goes on.

Buy right....buy once ;)

Colt 6920 LE SOCOM 5.56mm is an EXCELLENT choice :)

F@Ck the price....make a sacrifice if you REALLY want it....it's premium AR, with ###y highly desirable roll marks. M4A1 Carbine 5.56 MM. I would buy one in a heart beat if I had the extra $$$. Comes equipped with a Knights Armament quad-rail for mounting a vertical forgrip and a 30/5 round mag.

Very good choice my friend.....pull the trigger on the purchase, Pun intended :)

Daniel Defense is a premium Ar15. And an average DDM4 cost almost $500 cheaper.
Why pay more for something that is 'premium' while you can pay less for another 'premium' Ar15.

I have read that some Colt may have compatibility issues because of non standard pin size. Is it applicable with that one ?
Is the barrel contour an issue with weight ?
I'll use it to plink only at my "great" 25 yards restricted pistol range :(

25 yards???Might as well buy a sling shot...

A,B,C, always buy Colt. For resale anyhow. As other have said, everybody has stepped up their game. So you could find an equal quality AR for less; but then it wouldn't be a Colt!

Should ask people who considered a Colt Python and than went with something else because everyone told them "It's overpriced!", " you can a get a (insert brand) that shoots just as good for less",

Not saying Colt is the end all be all, but there are brands which really do hold their value.

Colt = The Rolex of firearms

Having owned Colt LE Guns since they hit our shores, I would say the only downside (not really) is the weight of the SOCOM barrel. I much preferred to course with and train with my standard 6921 … besides that, fill your boots. There is a pride of ownership that comes from owning a Colt. If you just want it for ####s and giggles any decent AR will do.

I got one. the SOCOM is a heavy barrel, I could feel that weight on the front end.
But I will swap it out with a 14.5" USGI SOCOM barrel with m203 cut outs.

Get a Colt 6920. The bolt and bolt-carrier-group are individually inspected (HPT and MPI) and not on a per batch basis. You'll have confidence that what you will get is magnetic particle and high pressure tested.

The Colt 6920 has a "M4 Carbine" rollmark, M4 profile barrel, standard safety, Magpul MBUS rear sight, either a Colt Rogers Super-Stoc, or (usually) a standard M4 stock, and is available for $1499.99.

The Colt 6920 SOCOM has a "M4A1 Carbine" rollmark, a heavier profile barrel under the handguard, Colt Ambi safety, either a Knights or (usually) Troy handguard, Matech rear sight, standard M4 stock, and is available for $1999.99.

Regards.

The Gun Dealer

Pulled the trigger , The Gun Dealer sold it to me.
Just hope Qc CFO will process quickly, I heard they have the habit to stall AR transfers for 1 month or 2 :(
