Talk me out of a Colt 6920 Socom.

RC Fan,

Yes, yours had the KAC rail, as it was from an earlier batch. All current shipments from Colt now have the Troy rail as standard. The only way to get one with a KAC rail, is to find one that was made before the 2013 spec became standard, and Colt ran out of their stock of KAC rails.

Colt made other changes to their rifles at the same time, removing the cleaning kit, changing the magazines, and no longer including the carry handle that came with some models, as well as changing back to the standard M4 stock on some models.

Regards.

OK, thanks. I appreciate your advice as always.

Colt is a way overpriced AR for what they bring to the table and also its restricted (these days less guns the government knows you have the better)

Major positive is they tend to hold resale value and it is a quality AR.

$1499 for a base 6920 is a good deal.

On par with prices of other M4 style rifles of similar quality.

I would jump on one, only if it came in the 14.5" barrel.

That, but personally I'd trade the FSB and TROY for a DD MK12 and M4A1RISII, the KAC I might keep tho ;)
