I have Talley Lightweights on my Stevens. They are, in my opinion, the best scope mounts available. I'd use them again on any rifle.
The only word of caution is that the Stevens/Savage has a longish action and some scopes won't fit properly. I was going to mount a buddy's 3-9x Leupold Rifleman in Weaver rings on his Stevens ('06 like mine) and the scope wouldn't fit. In a panic I even measured to see if my Talleys would work (it was an anniversary present from his wife) but the power ring to objective bell measurement was too short on the scope. My Stevens wears a Burris 3-9x Signature and it fits with 3/8" of fore/aft adjustment for eye relief. I think it has one of the longer scope tubes on the market. Definately worth trying/researching before you buy.
