Tanfoglio lands in Canada

Well, I bought one (Tanfoglio Stock) in 40 which you can't do in a CZ SP01 (yet).......it'll be interesting to see which wins out for my choice of a "better" (at least for me) Production division gun...........besides being able to use fiber optic for a front sight, lightened hammer, reversible mag release button, and polygonal rifling like the SP01's, it comes with an ambi with a much larger place for your thumb to stay on than the CZ' s, a little larger mag opening, and steel mags instead of the (crappy) polymer ones the SP01 uses......AND it comes in hard chrome to boot !!!!..........if you desire you could always use it with major loads in Ltd 10 or Standard division as well..............they say quality is worth paying for, let's see if its worth the extra money !!!!!

I'd rather not as I've probably done enough to piss anybody off. All I can say is ask around, there's one or two others that can get them. I've already ordered a 10mm.

In regards to Slavex's response: "who shoots them......."
People will say, there's usually the money in the hand reason why certain people shoot the guns they do. What actually happens alot of times is a shooter will use what they like and then try to get the manufacturer to pay them to use it : ) In regards to our current World Champion,... when he won his first in Cebu, he was shooting a Tanfoglio he built, then later Tanfoglio marketed his design and began to produce it. If you get to handle a Custom Eric model, it truly is an amazing pistol. The kid had his act together when he designed this one. I think alot of reason for the V porting at the time was that it produced less residue on the lens of a low mounted Aimpoint, but I guess it really works, I shot Hennings last year and it was sweet. Tanfoglio has come a long way since I seen my first ones. A gussied up CZ? in appearance maybe. They are a CZ copy for sure, but the Tanfo has its own unique aspects as well. They are different enough that parts don't swap, very little actually. I have a P9 frame that is over 15 years old, topped off with newer Tanfoglio parts, and custom stuff that has more rounds through it than you could imagine. Tanfoglio's are fine firearms. And no I'm not just saying this looking for a discount form Sean everybody LOL!!

So the 1911 is Italian made? If so, it's pretty tempting at $589. Is the frame cast or forged? Any MIM parts?

All 1911 under 2500$ have MIM ed parts, except Norinco's!

I know I'm going to catch #### for this but I couldn't hold my tongue any longer. Honestly I don't want to piss anybody off but I gotta call a spade a spade. I think the pricing on these things is insane by comparison to what I have been qouted from another supplier. Sorry but....

You'd rather NOT name another supplier? Why not? The whole point of a forum is to get people's ideas...and best prices on products availiable. I don't think that Freedom Ventures is afraid of a little competition. I'd like to get my hands on one of these 1911s, at the best price possible. However, if you're unwilling (or as I suspect unable) to name this phantom supplier...what are you contributing? Other than pissing off a board sponsor?

he said that he ordered a 10 mm Tanfoglio from redleg, so I'm assuming that's TSE is the mystery supplier. Why he wouldn't simply say that TSE offers a better price (provided that it in fact does) is beyond me. Why would any user of this board be pissed off to find out that they could get a better deal?

Freedom ventures is the distributor. If they offer rock bottom pricing, who would or could retail the same products? Nothing unfair or bad about that. the proprietor is dealing exaclty like every other retailer/distributor combo in any industry.

He even says "retailers may sell for less" on his website!
