ahh now I see says the blind man...but in my "densness" defense I would characterize your cutter as a "form cutter". All my woodruff cutters are square-faced at the cutting edge. and cut flat bottom grooves or 1/2 round slots.
I was envisioning using a segmented "cross cut method" but you form cutter & longitudinal cut is certainly an easier set-up.
