Tapco 20rd SKS

I just had a buddy pick some up for me while he was south for the holidays, thanks to the folks at the border they almost didn't make it. Lucky for me one of the guards grew up in the same area as where my buddy did so they shot the sh*t for a while and they let it go "just this one time". The guards were making up all kinds of stories about how the SKS is illegal in the US and how Canada will be banning them in a month or 2. Ya just gotta wonder some times.

i here all these people complaining about duckbill mags and how they will never use them again but i still dont see any forsale

I've been looking for what feels like forever for the Tapco 20/5rd detachable duckbill magazines and finally got my hands on two of 'em for a pretty decent price a few weeks back. Tried 'em out, didn't like 'em, and just sold 'em for pretty much the same price I got 'em at.

I now feel the original fixed 10rd mag is great and may look into the 20rd fixed mag in the future unless I replace my SKS with a VZ85.

What kind of mags were these, Tapco's or other? What kind of failures did you have with these mags that you were not happy with them. Just asking because my Tapcos have been reliable, real easy to load/unload and can be used stripper clips.
 
Go to Cabelas

If you are in the lower mainland just go to cabelas past Seattle washington state. Take a small drill with you and push in riviet machine (however it is called?) pin them at 5 rounds. you claim them for duty they are legal by Canadian law. Just make sure when you buy them in the states that you do not addvertise that you are from Canada and pay cash

hey guys any body looking for sks tapco 5/20 duckbill mags i found some on here the guy selling them has 15 left new only opend for pining hes selling them for 70$ shipped his name on here is Dj_Squelch good luck
 
$70 for a mag thats $20 in the states, of course I spend $80 for on on EE a few months back. I would love to find some more but don’t want to spend 3-4 times the suggested retail price.

really? you guys gotta stop whinning and just go buy them yourself in the states. if spending the whole day driving and and waiting at the border. also running the risk of getting arrested for illegal importaion with out paper work by the atf. so 70 shipped is not a bad price, he will also ship 2 for 125.
just suck it up.
 
It would be nice though if they didn't have to be pinned to 5 rounds but oh well it still looks good. I'll take 1 for 70 bucks shipped going to have to be in few weeks though all my firearm money is going to the t6 stock bipod and tri rail scope mount for now lol

I would edit your post asap, you are soliciting an illegal act asking the mag not be pinned.

May I suggest that you read his post carefully, "have to be pinned" (i.e. by law) is a completely legal expression.

I think most of us think that way and no harm expressing it to anybody.
 
I read it several times and it comes across as a solicitation so a tweak on the wording would be nice. There are anti's and law enforcement that read this site so it would be nice to not add fuel to the fire they are always starting. I would love to have full capacity mags but they are not legal so there for I do not posess any. :p
