Had a chance to take my new Tara TM-9 out to the range. Overall I am not unhappy with it.
I put 400rnds down range and it groups nicely once you get used to the heavy trigger. It does help very much to ease back the trigger after a shot till the trigger resets and you do get a much lighter trigger as reported.
I did have the issue that some other have reported of the trigger not resetting itself on an empty mag. Once you accept this as the way this pistol works it really is a non-issue at least for me. I did not find that it inhibited operation of the firearm in any way with a full mag. If you have an issue with the trigger not resetting, put in a full mag drop the slide and you will find the trigger has reset properly. Just a weird thing with this gun. I would be concerned except it is a sub $300 gun and seems to work fine when it counts.
All in all it is a fun gun to shoot. It is not a Glock so get that right out of your mind set. A Glock is probably superior in most ways then the Tara. The Tara however is a fun gun for very little $$$ to be honest I never expected a 9mm for this kind of money but I did have fun at the range and for the 400rnds shot of Remington UMC 9mm I had one light strike that fired on the second pull of the trigger but no other failures.
If there are any questions from anyone I would be happy to answer them if I can. I am not a gun pro, just a regular shooter out for fun not really keeping score. I did spend 18 years in the service with a tour in Afghanistan so I am not unfamiliar with firearms but by no means an expert, full disclosure ;-) What is a great gun for me may be garbage to someone else and that is okay, I am good with that.
