I'm looking for a post that showed a remote wireless target camera system that I believe was in this forum. I've tried the search facility and come up blank. I guess I'm not using the appropriate criteria.

Can someone point me to the post please?

Kinda like this?

wireless TX/RX can be found on Ebay. Min 2W for out to 750yds. 3W will get you past 1000yds but must be clear line of sight. A blade of grass will kill the signal.

LCD monitors used in car video. Battery packs. I just happen to use LIPO packs from RC planes. Any 12V source will do.

A camera with a zoom that has an AV out on the standard NTSC signal (RCA plugs) - digi cams, camcorders. They all have some way to getting image out and it must allow for streaming. I am unaware of any TX using HDMI plugs yet.

That's it.

Thanks Jerry, that's what I'm looking for. I already have the camera and a couple of tripods and an old laptop computer for a display. I seem to recall a post on CGN that specified a make and source for the TX and RX but have not been able to find it. Any suggestions as to brand of TX RX?

We have summer access to 2750 yards of open range with a mountain as a back stop. No trees or grass in the way as both target and firing point are elevated.

My 2W units as pictured, is toast around 750yds with an elevated TX. The 3W goes to 1000yds no problem.

Those are RC airplane 3cell Lipos. Small light, lots of juice for the size but pricey and you need the proper charging gear. I used to fly RC so had everything kicking around. It works superbly but pricey to set up for.

The small 12V quad/motobike batteries do the same thing, simple and cheap to get, easy to maintain and likely more robust then the lipo cells. The truck can be the power source from the shooting point.

A larger LCD monitor is a good thing. Whatever mini van type monitor that has RCA inputs and a 12V operating voltage.

Today, stuff is plentiful and dirt cheap.

I have a set-up that works good at a mile. Probably newer better stuff out there now, and I don't know much about electronics.....but might find the old thread....... I'll try to dig up the parts list for ya....

FWIW, w ww.creedmoorsports.com/shop/Bullseye-Target-Camera.html

I've got a Bullseye 1000 yard system sitting beside me, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Looks very well put together, the software is intriguing and by the promo material it should be a winner. Absolutely freaking horrible experience buying it direct from Bullseye (thank omniscient being for (FRAUD ALERT)'s dispute system), so I hope there's never any trouble with it. Hopefully I'll be able to give a range report soon.
