Tavor-21 reliability

I have one of the first rifles in the country so I've had the rifle for around 5 years now. My rifle is not a range rifle. I use it and abuse it. It's been dropped off equipment, drug through the mud, and covered in coyote blood (don't ask). I've never had one single failure. NOT ONE.

Any thoughts on holding out for next generation, it seems time for an update, think they will do a gen 3 and u think they will be a better rifle?

It's awesome, standing shooting is a blast! And cleaning is super easy! Has eaten every ammo I fed it no problem!

I don't think there will be any major changes to the Tavor platform. It looks like the IDF and IWI are focusing more on the X95 Micro Tavor. They're supposedly switching over to that platform in the near future.

I too have one from the original batch and it has been flawless, no problems what so ever. These are rifles not damn phones there wont be some big change coming.

I got mine about a month ago , took it out without even cleaning it and put 200 rounds through it. Not a single hiccup. I used pmags , lar 15 mags , rob arms xcr pistol mags and the one it came with , with 100% reliability. Since then I gave it a really good once over , frog lubed it and shot another 300 rounds and still haven't even seen any hint of a problem at all. This is my go too for everything rifle now because I am without any question of a doubt sure that this rifle is made to work and work it does.

Well s*#t, apparently I'm the only one who's had issues with a tavor. On a recent carbine course I had multiple failures to feed, double feed, and bolt not holding open on empty. They happened halfway through day 2 and it rained all day. P-mags, LAR and factory mags were used during these failures. I tore the gun right down and inspected every part as thoroughly as I could. I found the gun to be very filthy, and the bolt catch was taking a few very small dings. Basically I have no idea what caused it but the gun did become practically unshootable during the last drill we did. I have it all back together now and put a few rounds through on Saturday without issue. I'll do more testing again soon.
