I've never been a fan of the bullpup design in a black rifle, but ever since i started to understand the idea behind bullpup, and the advantages they have over the ARs. I kinda want one. The Tavor actually looks wicked awesome, What do people think about it? Who in southern ontario around hamilton/toronto carries them? probably be my next big purchase. I also like the fact thats its is israeli made.

Second to none pointability, manuverability. Absolutely better than any AR15 with 16" (I only have a 20" and 16" AR to compare)
No wiggle between upper and lower (like AR / Swiss) if this is an issue to you.
Down side: need some time to adopt the mag release, bolt catch etc. Trigger not the best.
Also not much accessories available.

A lot of dealer carries them. I saw one in Target sport, I think, last Friday. But they gone quickly. Once they are gone, another batch may show up after a 2, 3 months.
One more thing, it is Really battle proven.
But if you don't mind restricted, I would prefer buying two (2) DDM4 for one Tavor.

Tavor availability

Lantz Shooting Supplies at the Silverdale club has one on display.

Call 905-957-7362 and ask for Seth who will take good care of you. Tell him Gord sent you.

I love mine. takes a bit of time to get familiar with the setup, well, for me anyway, coming off AR's.... but well worth it. Quality piece of hardware. Non restricted is a major bonus. Dropped an Aimpoint and L3 weapons light on it and good to go! :)

Tavor is a truly well made combat rifle. I've been pushing mine hard for over a year now and I love it. Definitely the nicest gun I own.

Somedays I think its the nicest anything I own.

The Tavor is a work of art. I like it because it reminds me of my Lee enfield L85A2 from back in the day. It works well and shoots like a dream.

The only things I dislike about it,

I don't own one.
There too expensive.

Buy buy buy.

The Tavor is the ultimate battle rifle, period. I would like to dispel a few myths about the controls: they are actually fairly intuitive, easy to adapt to - and the trigger is not as bad as most make out. It's one of the few rifles that is completely ambidextrous with a LH bolt conversion. The design and ergonomics are fantastic, and it features integrated flip-up BUIS, a side mounting rail and full-length top rail. You can easily mount a bipod, laser, light and any number of optic setups with relative ease. The barrel is threaded for a standard 1/2x28, so the standard flash hider can be substituted for any compatible flash hider, compensator or muzzle brake. So in terms of accessories, all the important ones are covered.

The Tavor is also relatively maintenance-free, and it's easy to disassemble for cleaning. There are little (if any?) reports of problems associated with the Tavors, as they are incredibly durable and reliable.

+1 for all the above.
It is a true battle rifle, and issued to the Isrealie defence forces as well as numerous other countries armies. Cant say that with many other so called black rifles. The fact that it takes AR mags and it is not restricted sealed the deal for me.

went to the range yesterday with my Tavor, one guy had a trigger pull meter. He measured two of them, my buddys stock trigger was 12 lb and mine was 9 lb i had the trigger mod done (removed the return spring).. I thought you guys would like to know that..

The only thing i dont like about the Tavor, is how it spits bunch of gas back in my face every shot.. but i'm getting use to it :) It could also be due to the brake i have on it.

Place a small strip of hockey tape over the seam on the receiver near where your eye tends to be when you shoot ... no more tears.
