You must be an awesome friend if you get your friends to be arms smugglers for you.

SO I just got one of these babies. How do I lock/secure it. Trigger lock obviously doesn't work. And I can't figure out how to lock open the chamber so that I can run a cable lock through it. Anyone have any tips for the best solutions?

RTFM

Just behind the magazine well, at the bottom of the frame, there's a block you pull down on to lock the slide back.

Cable lock will do the trick! I find its easier to feed through the ejection port down to the magwell rather than the other way around.

For a cable lock that I use, when I let go the bolt... just the thickness of the cable... but I was asking for this AR lock that took all place of the bolt... see picture... that's the one that I worry about the action spring be compresse all the time...

Springs wear when in use. The action of compression/ decompression is what ages them. They are fine loaded, as well as no load. Many threads here on this regarding keeping magazines loaded. Have a look?

Thanks Dook!

For your clarification and your avatar... just found the web "CanadaCarry" that I was looking for since my 2 trainings with CAPS...

What's the expected barrel life of the Tavor? I'm seriously considering one, but the only thing holding me off is the fact you cannot buy a replacement barrel, or even an aftermarket barrel.

Thanks.

Worst comes to worst, send your Tav to someone like Ian at Herron Arms and he could build you a new barrel and probably reuse parts off your old barrel. Its just not as handy and you can't have a spare right now to put in the sock for what ever reason you choose.
