You beat me too it.The tavor bolt catch is a see-saw just like an AR-15s. You can push on the opposing end to lock the bolt open.
Easy enough with two wrenches but man is it on there tight. How hard was it to remove the original flash hider?
Super easy, Just need two wrench's. One for the jam nut and one for the muzzle device, just unlock, put on the new one and when it's lined up lock the jam nut against it. Don't need a shim kit or anything. How hard was it to remove the original flash hider?
X95 Recoil Spring Shenanigans:
In the process of changing out the recoil spring on our X95's I discovered a few length differences I did not expect to find. I have three sets of recoil springs for two different rifles. The lengths of each are:
Spare IWI springs purchased from Az####h. 21" - both the same length
OEM spring as it came out of the rifles. 19 7/8"
19 1/8"
Shooting Sight High Energy Recoil Spring. 17 3/8" - both the same length
From shortest to longest there is a 3 5/8" difference.
The two OEM springs came out of the rifles with a 3/4" difference in length. Neither rifle has had more than 300 rounds through it.
I'm kinda surprised at how short the Shooting Sight spring is compared to the OEM spring. However it feels physically heavier than the OEM spring.
I have only seen stronger springs, not weaker springs.I picked up a bunch of Barnaul for my X95 and it won’t cycle well in -10 weather, and won’t lock the bolt open on the last round half the time in the summer… wondering if a spring would help with that?
It cycles regular 3100 fps brass 556 just fine, it’s just that Barnaul steel case that has issues. It’s a weak round, much less kick. I have heard some peoples X95’s run steel case no problem, and others struggle with itI have only seen stronger springs, not weaker springs.
It's weird your rifle isn't cycling fully, as everyone complains about the X95 being overgassed. I have been running slightly light 55gr ammo in our X95's because the hot stuff puts dings in the plates.
Awesome. Looking forward to trying mine when it shows up.We tried the Shooting Sight High Energy Recoil Spring today and they worked great. By great, I mean the rifles cycled flawlessly. The only difference we really noticed is slightly more effort needed on the cocking handle.
TBH I never really noticed anything negative about the gassing of my X95. I'm kinda taking that issue as fact based upon what everyone on the internet says. It didn't really bother me but for the cost of the High Energy Recoil Spring, I'm happy to make that upgrade.Awesome. Looking forward to trying mine when it shows up.
I'm guessing the rifle is still on the overgassed end of the spectrum but much less so?
Nope. The rifle does not have any storage.Hi all.
So new to the x95 platform and sorry if this has been asked already.
Is there someplace on the rifle to store the front sight tool?

The tavor slings have a little pouch on it but I don’t know if it will fit a sight toolHi all.

You have a picture of that?I wrapped mine in a small rag with a spare set of ear plugs behind the butt plate.
Never had an issue.
Cheers
Jeff
Sorry no longer have an X95.You have a picture of that?
