Tavor going restricted?

They can't classify it as restricted its not a variant of anything currently restricted and it has a barrel of over 18 inches, most probably they would reclassify it prohibited but then on what grounds? Lots of people own tavors that are not RPALs, this would be another mess like the cz/swiss mess which would require Blaney to sign off on it, he learned his lesson last time, very little chance of this happening with the current government regardless of what the RCMP wishes to do.
they could call them all converted autos like they have done with other makes. The SAN is a perfect example of that happening when a retailer brought a couple of his own rifles in to the RCMP.

Too bad this is a ''my friend told me over coffee'' story because I have a great over the gun counter story from today. Here it goes:

I went to my local gun store in Quebec City today to have a job done by the gunsmith. Needless to say, once I got there I noticed a sign on his counter top that read :

You are obligated by law to present a registration certificate for any firearm you bring in for us to work on. No service will be provided without a registration certificate.

Gun store stories are the best.

Once you come to terms with the fact the RCMP is pushing for everything to be restricted, if not prohibited you will sleep much better at night.

How can it be a converted auto when the whole gun is build from new?

Well, if history teaches us anything, the RCMP wouldn't ask permission to change a firearm's classification.

You should read up the law and the reason why RCMP reclassify firearms.

All the more reason to buy one IMO. The more people have theses guns, the more resistance there will be to these silly re-classifications. The RCMP need a kick in the knackers to show em who is in charge.

I agree ^

The Tavor will never go restricted. It will go prohibited a long time before it goes restricted. That is what the RCMP is pushing for. The Tavor will go prohibited after the first major shooting when the Libtards have taken a majority government.

Doubt it.

The Tavor already has a restricted classification with the short CTAR barrel. Longer barrel models are non-restricted, are not variants of a named prohibited firearm, are not built on converted auto receivers, and can only be prohibited by new federal legislation.

The myopic few that desire to cut their nose off to spite their face by "punishing" the CPC in the next election, shall ensure the latter becomes the case.

Well written!

Anyone who believes their Tavor will be prohibited out your money where your mouth is. I'll buy your Tavor at 10 cents on the dollar. Since you claim it will be prohibited this is a great deal for you as you will at least recoup some money rather than a 100% loss.

I'll take some of that action....hell, I'll pay 15 cents on the dollar!

I would like to see some financial statements from the Tavern before I commit to a purchase.

LOL... that's like saying Beowulf mags and LAR mags will be prohib because the clerk or owner of a LGS told you they were going to be. (Real example that happened to me.)
he was just trying to make sales, did his tactics make you purchase some of his mags?
