Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has both and or have used both and can offer a good comparison, pro's and con's.

Thanks T

Serious response you say?

AR-15 Pros:
Everyone and their dog has one.
You can change it round from Chihuahua to Great Dane.
It shoots .223 out of common mags.
It can be cheap.
If you build it right and wear the right camo you can be just as badass as SOCOM/JTF2

AR-15 Cons:
Everyone and their dog has one.
You can only take it places with government permission, and the government knows darn well you've got it.
It gets dirty if you shoot it dirty.
It can be wicked expensive.

Tavor Pros:
You can take it wherever your little heart desires.
It's half the size of an AR with the same barrel length.
It shoots .223 out of common mags.
It's easy to clean.
If you build it right and wear the right camo you can be just as badass as IDF/Sayeret

Tavor Cons:
It's pretty pricey.
It's got a heavy trigger out of the box. Upgrades are good but pricey.
It's a bullpup! So your regular magflip, dynamic prone technique, or drill for shooting out of a helicopter might need adjusting.

I own both, tavor is a bulldozer tank will always ALWAYS go bang but is less accurate and you might need to shave your mags, ar15 is more finicky, jams and malfunctions more often, but more accurate.

If you buy a decent Ar15, it will rarely jam...unless you dont clean it after firing thousands of rounds.

I agree with tv. I would rather cash out a hefty amount for a gun that I can take anywhere and the government has no clue that I own it. Plus it is also shorter than a lot of AR's. Takes common magazines and ammunition and isn't picky about ammunition. Is completely milspec, as well very durable and reliable. In my eyes perfect for a bush gun as well as a plinker and tactical shooter. Works and cowitnesses with modern non magnification sights as well as has great if not better ergonomics than an AR (it does for me anyway). I actually find I can manipulate it better than an AR as well. It has zero recoil (again in my opinion).

Only downsides? Not nearly as customizable as an AR, nor as cheap (as most anyway), and the heavy trigger is kind of a downer but definitely not a deal breaker.

Had both. Sold the AR.

AR pros
Customizable
Can be cheap
Mine never had any failures
Tried and tested design
It's a cool firearm
Simple to clean
Aftermaket support is great
Replacement parts are plentiful

AR cons
The AR is front heavy, doesn't bother me too much just what I noticed (less balanced)
Restricted

Tavor pros
Non restricted
Uses AR mags
Easy to manipulate
Tried and tested design
Simple to clean

Tavor cons
Some say the trigger but mine is fine. Still might invest in a aftermarket trigger pack though
Some say heavy but I don't find it heavy. Maybe they should lift or eat more
Replacement parts are still hard to get in canada compared to getting AR parts
Not customizable.

I own both. The tavor is not less accurate then an AR. Mine shoots at around 1.75 MOA. A rack grade AR may shoot better than this or it may shoot worse. The other comments are accurate.

I own both and I can say for a fact that next time I would buy a SU16 instead of a tavor and AR15. The SU16 is the pinnacle of firearm design. The SU16 is accurate enough to shoot the nuts of a fly at 200 meters. It is the most durable and ergonomic firearm currently being manufactured now. Also to boot its much cheaper then tavors or most AR15's. Certainty with out a doubt the SU16 is a much better firearm then any AR15 or tavor.

Slow clap.
