Just caught up on this rifle now. Does it take STANAG mags? You mentioned 8lbs? Is that correct for the .223?

nope none, they are pretty new in the 556 game, 2 years now I think. they are known for their smg

I take a personal liking to guns that I know some guy somewhere in the world is lugging around for professional work.
The reason I have been holding on to my SAN and ARs and haven't traded them in for an ACR, should I now trade them in for an APC-556...???... tempting but I am not sure just yet.....

If we can get a Scar I would be all over it...

Yes it takes STANAG mags.

yep takes AR mags, the 16.5 inch barrel is 8.5 pounds i imagine the 18.5 inch barrel is going to be close to 9, it all depends how it balances though.
