Tavor vs xcr.

I had both, liked both, sold the tavor as it gets less use.
I shot more than 1300 rounds of 7.62x39 last week, that corrosive Chinese ammo can shoot
If somone want to shoot more for less and have fun with 10 rounders the only choice imo is the xcr.
Very pleased with accuracy and reliability of both.
I got years of fun with combat proven guns, I'm happy now exploring unproved designs!!!

I would probably give a slight reliability nod to the Tavor (I don't own one just based on what I've seen/read) I have heard of small parts breaking on both, but rarely a major problem with either.

I personally think you're choosing between the two best non restricted black rifle options out there right now, and you'll almost certainly be happy with whichever you choose.

^exactly. I'm working-up loads for my new XCR-L as a varmint hunter, so prone shooting off a bipod is a key consideration. I'm not concerned about "combat" readiness...unless the groundhogs start shooting back.

Stop looking for clips because when you look for clips... All you will find, is clips.
What you want is magazines, specifically AR 30/5 magazines and they are everywhere.


Adding my two cents on the op... I know I'm kinda late but... Anyway can't say anything about the XCR.
But I kinda hate the Tavor.
It's lack of precision accuracy really bugs me, normally I would just let it go but the rifle handles so well in field shooting positions that it keeps me coming back trying to find the load or shooting technique that will unlock its precision capabilities.
I have exhausted the shooting technique side of things by putting a 6-24 power scope on it and dry firing on top magnification from the bench @ a 1" target @ 100yrds so that I could witness trigger breaks on target without recoil, doing this has shown me this rifles other unforgivable flaw the trigger (even without the return spring) really is terrible but also let me see what care must be taken if there is to be any meaningful accuracy testing.

That leaves ammo... Handloads, the tests I still have to do are BLC2 with bullets over 50 gr and bullets under 50gr.
I left the light bullets for last as I would rather be shooting the heavier bullets.

Hah that's one of the reasons I got the Tavor as well. I know they use the auto version, but it is essentially the same rifle. But if it's reliable for them to use, I planned on keeping this a long time so that's why I chose Tavor over XCR.
 
I was over on the XCR forums and was reading a lot of people jumping ship citing major problems they experienced.. Now I read on this thread most people have no issues! I'm so torn. :(
 
Can any XCR owners comment on FAST stock? I've heard that it can be a bit wobbly, any truth to that?
 
It's wobbly compared to say, the Magpul UBR with similar operation style (pull back to extend). The FAST stock has more play for sure. Which is too bad because the rest of the gun is rock solid. Not a huge deal in real life use but to some people it could be a little annoying. Personally I like mine non-wobbly so I put some black electrical tape between the moving parts to remove the wobbles. Worked well.

This debate between Robinson, iwi and Swiss has gone to the point where it wouldn't surprise me if guys who dot even own one spreads propaganda about te gun. You would think all these guys make some sort of commission everytime there favorite gun is referred lol
 
Lol tv your for sure a tavor die hard. But your not annoying like some. You offer great advice in favour of tavor. But you don't cry like a little girl when someone doesn't get the tavor. Your alright in my books lol

Good to know because I'm currently saving for an XCR and still wading through the BS, trying to make sure I don't buy a very expensive chunk of metal.

My only complaint with my XCR is the stock, it rattles. I've filed it and it's better but there's still play.
When my Dlask adapter gets here, hopefully tomorrow, I'm taking the Fast Stock and screwing it to the wall in my gun room, for a coat rack.

A cheap fix for the Fast stock is JB weld, bed half the lock. Release agent is your friend!
Or close the lock on a folded cotton patch, <---my route.

These are the complaints people have. The stock vibrates a tenth of a inch. May as well throw the gun away lol.
