Been wanting to discuss triggers for my X95. I understand the Tavor 21 also uses the same basic trigger so they can also be swapped out.

I have a Geissele Lightning Bow ordered ... which is currently stuck in CBSA limbo. :(

I've been considering at least trying one of the drop in trigger packs as well. It seems there are three different models.

Geissele
Timney
Tav-D

Anyone got any experience with these?

The Geissele and Timney appear to be essentially the same price .... expensive when they can be found.

Searching around, I found the following info on Reddit.

Stock X95 pack = 7.5 lb.
X95 Pack + Geissele Lightning Bow = 4.5 lb (this is the best bang for the buck)
Geissele Super Sabra + Geissele Lightning Bow = 3 lb (2-stage)

Apparently the Timney produces a single stage trigger pull. I am a big fan of the 2-stage trigger.

I only did the bow on a Tavor 21 and was happy with the results. relatively inexpensive although the installation and tuning is more difficult then changing the packs

The X95 pack is much better then the original Tavor 21

The Geissele pack is very good but expensive. I think I read about some failures with the timney

Bow upgrade is 100% worth the price of admission. The Geissele trigger pack makes it slightly better but the bang for the buck is definitely less.

I find the x95 to have a nice two stage trigger from OEM. A bit long before the wall, but the short reset makes up for that in my opinion. I've thought about a trigger upgrade, but then I go to the range and its performance leaves me with a smile and changed mind.

One more vote for the Geissele lightning bow, and as someone mentioned, be ready to spend some time tuning it to get the proper feel.

I have a Tavor 21 here to compare to my X95. The X95 trigger is considerably better, much lighter. I see why people drop X95 triggers into the T21.

I did just that the other day. I put up a WTB add and someone responded with an OEM X95 trigger pack for a reasonable price. I didn't test it on a scale, but I dry fired the regular Tavor trigger pack against the X95 and the pull weight is approx. half of what it was. Couldn't be happier with it and it ran me about 40% of what a Geissle would have run me. I'm considering upgrading the trigger itself as well, as I'd like to use my Tavor my deer rifle.

I've directly compared most of the X95 trigger options:

-stock trigger + pack: The stock setup is ok, kinda like a Glock, a bit mushy but plenty serviceable
-Geiselle Lightning Bow trigger + stock trigger pack: best bang for your buck, gets rid of all the mushiness but keeps the same pull weight as the stock setup
-stock trigger + Geiselle trigger pack: same mushy feel as stock but with a very crisp break, I wouldn't bother to do it this way, if you get the pack you might as well buy the trigger bow as well
-Geiselle Lightning Bow trigger+ Geiselle trigger pack: no mushiness and a nice, light, crisp break but you pay for it

I think doing the Geiselle trigger is almost a no-brainer for what they cost (<$200 iirc) but the pack is kinda hard to justify (approx $600?), imo.

My super sabra + lightening bow is set up to break at 2.36lbs consistent on a digital pull gauge, two stage, with barely any mushy softness in the trigger.
I did however polish the contact point on the actual trigger bar and interfacing components.

The best way for me to describe it is that it feels like an extremely identical trigger pull/break/reset to my Triggertech adaptable 2.5-5.0 cranked down to the lowest setting, from one of my ARs.

Being able to pull that out of a bullpup is 100% justifies the price paid for the components and the bit of elbow grease required.

If you're on the fence, and can justify the price, do it.
If you're local to me id be more than happy for you to try it/run a few rounds through before buying.

That was me messaging you!
Ive sold the pack since, I did however find the X95 OEM trigger bow though, pm me if you would like it, I haven't gotten around to posting the actual ad yet,

Good info, thanks

Just flirting with the idea of the trigger pack. As our AR's are a no-go (thanks Blackface) I have pretty much gone to the X95 as my primary rifle, so it wouldn't be difficult to justify the expense of the trigger pack.

Not to hijack op thread but what’s the best video for install of the lightning bow and tuning? Can’t seem to find a decent one that’s real visual.

Installed the Geissele Lightning Bow today and not certain I see what all the fuss is about.

I don't have a trigger pull gauge so I can only compare side by side to an OEM trigger. We have two X95 so I can actually do side by side comparisons without swapping out parts to do so.

For sure, 100% the Geissele Trigger Bow eliminates 95% of the takeup.

However I do not perceive the Lightning Bow to have reduced the trigger pull or even shortened the break, and looking at how it works, I'm not sure why it would?

I am a big fan of a 2-stage trigger and the Geissele Trigger Bow effectively turns the X95 trigger pull into a somewhat long single stage trigger. In comparison, the OEM trigger has an obvious takeup, and a decent second stage wall.

From the OEM second stage wall, the Geissele feels exactly the same. After break, let both go back to their reset and pull again and they still feel identical.

Now that I've tried the Trigger Bow by itself, I am a lot more certain that I want the Geissele trigger pack. Without the trigger pack upgrade, I'd probably go back to the OEM trigger. I just prefer a 2-stage with a decent wall.

Apparently there's a gotcha to install the trigger properly. Looks like you need to remove a screw and a small spring from the trigger, then install them in a certain way. Check out starting at 9:40:
