TC vs RN , 9mm in a CZ

just wondering is theres any real difference between a Truncated cone and a round nose bullet in a CZ, if the tight chamber will result in it preferring one or the other.

i've used 124, 135, 147 rd nose & 147 tc, they all worked well, barrel fit a sample 1st the cz is a little fussy . eg 147 Rainer @ 1.125; 147 Aim @ 1.115, & 147 Red Line @ 1.125. it depends on how far fwd the ogive is on a particular bullet
 
It all depends on bullet shape/profile; CamPro and Berry's work great in CZ handguns, be it 124gr or 147gr bullets. OAL will be short-ish compared to other pistols thou. There is nothing wrong with TC bullets (I used Frontier in the past), but RN ones seem to feed smoother and (often) allow for greater OAL.
I had good experience with Frontier bullets (both - TC and RN) but switched to Berry's RN as I could run greater OAL and they are cheaper on my local scene; accuracy with Berry's is better as well.
AIM bullets are subpar (no good for various reasons) so far.
Zero and Montana Gold are very popular in US as well (for CZ pistols).

CZs like 124gr or 147gr bullets much better than 115gr ones.
 
Thanks CeeZeer thats exactly what i was looking for.... Ya dont get me going about the Jelly beans Aim has been turning out, so disappointed, im gonna be using 124 grain berrys but im trying to decide on which bullet mold to buy for casting, thinking im going to go with the RN now. Thanks again.
 
Don't go with anything less than 124/125gr bullet if you are gonna cast lead bullets. You will either end up with key-holing or very wide spread.
Also, avoid TiteGroup as it's gonna be very smoky with lead (high burning temp will burn wax and melt lead).
Watch for how much case volume you have with the bullet (seated) as it'll dictate your powder choices.
Also, make sure the rounds don't 'walk' forward in the mag too far on recoil so you don't get double-feeds and mag hang ups when dropping them (top round in mag hangs up on feed ramp); make sure you don't hit slide stop's 'knub' with the bullet as well.

haha oh my experiences with TG and lead in my CZ, i was known for that at my club the smoke screen that load made haha. My CZ actually worked pretty well with 135 grain LRN and TG before i made the mistake of buying 6k 124 grain AIM bullets. im gonna try using a125 grain RN for my cast bullets.Thanks again for the advice
