The Division rules for handgun only matches have been "tweeked" from the original ODPL rules...
Other ODPL "teams" may choose to run with the original set, but at GRGC and Colby we're changing it up a little...
The changes shouldn't materially affect shooters already shooting in what was known as CDP/SSP/ESP etc...
The names have changed but the criteria remains essentially the same albeit a little simpler.
In an effort to become more inclusionary when it comes to the types of pistols people are shooting Team Hoser has added what we're calling "Modified" div.
Here's what the new Div. look like:
There are five handgun divisions.
1. Double Action
- Pistol must be 9mm (9x19) or larger calibre.
- Pistol is double action, DA/SA or striker fired.
- Pistol must fit in the gun test box measuring 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 5/8” with an empty magazine inserted.
2. Single Action Minor
- Pistol must be no larger than .40S&W cal.
- Pistol must be single action.
- Pistol must fit in the gun test box measuring 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 5/8” with an empty magazine inserted.
3. Single Action Major
- Pistol must be .45acp or 10mm Auto or “larger”
- Pistol must be single action
- Pistol must fit in the gun test box measuring 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 5/8” with an empty magazine inserted.
5. Revolver
- Revolvers must be 9mm (9x19) or larger.
- Revolvers may have a maximum barrel length of six inches.
- Revolvers do not have to fit in the gun test box measuring 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 5/8”
4. Modified
- Pistol must be a minimum of 9mm 9x19
- Pistol does not have to fit in the gun test box measuring 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 5/8" with an empty magazine inserted.
- The following modifications are allowed only in Modified Division:
- Ported barrels, enlarged magazine wells
The following modifications are explicitly allowed in all divisions:
- Changed or altered grips
- Changed or altered sights (of the same type that came with the gun)
- Cosmetic changes without competitive advantage
- Minor changes to improve the normal functioning of the gun, such as polishing feed ramps, chamfering cylinders, polishing/improving mag releases and so on
anything that does render the gun unsafe or bring a material competitive advantage.
The following modifications are explicitly prohibited in all divisions:
- The disabling of any safety device ie pinning of grip safeties.
